Yes, Sony has already dropped the bomb and announced the PlayStation 4. But you don't believe they've shown us everything , do you? Of course not. They're holding back…

And that's why you're probably preparing to tune in to Sony's E3 2013 press conference. Mark your calendars; the event will take place on Monday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. EST. Grab some popcorn, kick back, and check out some new PS4 launch titles!

Well, we're all assuming we'll see more confirmed launch titles, and many are hoping that will include the likes of inFamous: Second Son . Ideally, the conference will be live-streamed, which will allow you to check it out in real-time (this usually happens, so no worries). As for the timing, Sony will be following Microsoft, as the latter's conference kicks off several hours earlier. It'll be interesting to compare and contrast the two conferences, won't it? Sure it will.

Oh, and if you haven't heard, Nintendo won't have a conference at E3 this year. We could speculate as to why…but we won't.

Going after MS is a good thing, all Sony has to do is put on an awesome show with plenty of new footage and MS is toast.

MS will only have time to reveal their console (which will do all kinds of lame non-game-related stuff)then show off CoD and Halo 17.

As they didn't with the PS4 debut announcement (to my chagrin), I hope they use the E3 presentation to bring back Kevin Butler and have him be their new Vice President of PS4 Awesomeness.

You may not want to go there but I will: Nintendo isn't doing a press conference because Sony and Microsoft are gonna go at it like Ali and Frazier, and Nintendo's meager offerings will barely register as a Glass Joe.

I hope Nintendo turns it around, I really do, but I'm skeptical.

I'd kill for Heavenly Sword 2. Ninja Theory announced they're working on something now so I keep hopeful but doubt that's what it is. *sigh*

I hope the rumors that Sony will most likely announce the price and or release date in an event/conference before E3 hits cause the anticipation is killing me Im dying to know if it will be reasonably priced (less than 500) or can I expect another 600+ dollar console..

and I mean for the best model if theres more than one.

I mean what I dont want is "here is your reasonably priced 400 dollar console… but if you give us 600 well give you one with double the HDD space of the "budget" model plus had double the features than the 400 dollar one too" scenario.

If Sony shows The last guardian and gives it a release date then they win in my book.
Ninty would be insane to go up on the big stage, anything they'd show would look like fisher price game next to the PS4.

The last guardian is a lie!! I lost my faith on that game a long time ago… they will never release it

@Simcoe – Kevin Butler is an ass and did nothing for the brand. Sony needs to focus on a refined image which is ultimately what they represent compared to 'cheap plastic' Microsoft – and THAT will toast MS. Sony needs to return to its 1st class roots and produce a robust, focused product.

Well someone suggested on another article, this is why this is a marathon and not a dash race.

Since Nintendo is not going to be there, its going to an all out battle as E3 approaces and and the long run towards the launch dates.

I still believe its what comes after launch that matter most, but I hope Sony has a better marketing team and plan this time round. So far they have done well. Now that just have to keep it up.

Competition is the only way gamers get the best of things.

Keep Playing!

I really hope that Sony announces the price and the machine itself previous to the E3.

I want E3 to be about games, games and then some more games.

I'm really hoping MS will spend a lot of time on showing how the next xbox will integrate with your refrigerator, and how you need to do everything with Kinect. It won't even matter what Sony does after that, they'll still win in a landslide (though I'm sure they'll have some more kickass launch titles.)

This is great news!

With Sony's conference following Microsoft's, they have a chance to match or undercut the pricing of the nextbox.

I want to see this happen!

That's pretty much what I'm expecting. I could see there being last minutes changes of MS does anything shocking as well. I'm sure Sony already has multiple price points that they're playing with and wouldn't be surprised if they don't finalize it until after finding out MS's plans. Even if Sony ends up with the more powerful (even if slightly so) hardware I can't see them pushing their console at a higher price than MS's. Then again I can't see them matching MS if Microsoft prices the next XBox ridiculously high as well. MS might be less willing this time to take a loss on hardware for whatever reason while even in Sony's condition they'll still do it if need be and if they can undercut Microsoft without taking that much of a hit I could see them doing it.

I see Sony and Microsoft moving towards the center of the casual/hardcore spectrum with these conferences.

Sony didn't just trot out the PS4 Eye and laud its superiority to the current Kinect so it can make inFamous more hardcore. Let's not forget this is the same Sony that spent 20 minutes of last year's conference talking about Wonderbook. I'm looking for Sony to drop huge bombs, like FF exclusivity. It will be great to see Sony and Square become best buds again. Those good ol' PS1 days! A laser focus on one awesome console and catering to all of its strengths should put SE back on the road to recovery.

Microsoft will come with some hardcore games but will also be Kinect 2.0-focused. If Ryse is an ancient Greek or Roman FP combat game that requires a controller to play, then it's already many times more interesting than another Killzone for me. I'm just curious about Microsoft's feelings on Japan. When they were aggressively going for that market, they were producing some of their greatest games. I'd like to see that again.

I'm okay with Nintendo not having a big conference. Trying to have a one size fits all conference sometimes disappoints everyone. So having a special conference for the developers and investors to focus on reassurance of the Wii U brand and another for the press to get the word out to gamers seems like a good move. I don't think it's fear. They had no issue showing Wii Sports against games like Gears of War and Heavenly Sword. This scenario is no different. I can't doubt a company that has been turned a profit 29 of the last 30 years.

i just hope im not working like i was on the day of the ps4 reveal.
and $ony, please for the love of god can we PLEASE have a proper stream this time!?
so stupid how they setup ustream for the announcement, it was a rolling tape so you had to watch the stream where it was up to.
i ended up starting the video like 3/4s of the way through so i had to watch it backwards spoiling half the surprises!
why is it so difficult to have a normal recording so people can watch it start to finish?

hopefully we dont have to wait till E3 though to have more information.
$ony would be wise to have another event before then announcing and detailing all the features of the system, more detailed specs, and finally show of the system.
save E3 for games, games and more games!
and maybe a price and release date, but i still think its too early to be talking about that.
thats what gamescom/TGS are for.
