Bloodborne Ships 1 Million, Sony “Thrilled” At Gamers’ Response

We know that Bloodborne was #1 on the PS Store in March .

Now, we find out it has reached a global milestone.

According to Gematsu , From Software's well-received title has shipped over 1 million copies since its release at the end of last month. Sony says the number includes both physical and digital sales and as boss man Shuhei Yoshida said in a statement:

"Bloodborne was a new challenge for us, and our goal was to create a title that took full advantage of the power of PS4. I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying the extremely rich and detailed world, beautiful melancholic atmosphere, and palpable tension of Bloodborne."

Bloodborne is indeed a fantastic game that is unparalleled when it comes to the thrill of risk vs. reward. Have you enjoyed the challenge yet?

I haven't been able to play the game much due to all of the homework I have had U_U

Unlike Dark Souls 1 or 2, I've struggled with this one much more.

Enjoyed the challenge? Definitely although sometimes I feel like braking the controller.

The first few hours were rough for me.
Thoughts like "is the whole game like this"?
Started creeping in my mind, thinking maybe this wasn't for me.
I'm here to tell you it's not. It gets easier as you get a firm and instinctive grasp of the controls.

And one can always beef up their character to such a point that the difficulty can vary significantly.

And later in the game armor choice DOES make an impact. You'll find yourself swapping your gear to defend against poison and frenzy and arcane based attacks.
There were a lot of myths about how this game is supposed to be played when it first released so don't think it's all true. Leveling for example should not be dumped into only one or two attributes.

Oh, and don't think you're always in Yarhnam. There's 4 grave stones you'll teleport from and only one of those is in Yarhnam. The nightmare frontier was awesome!

Oh and during the first level or two use Molotov cocktails to your advantage. After which you don't really need them anymore. I haven't used one in 10 hours or more come to think of it.

I loved castle cainhurst. The snowy little area, with those damn ticks! I really enjoyed how everything is so connected, reminds me so much of demons souls and less of the sequels. Hope they do have dlc for it.

Except dumping your points into 2-3 attributes IS the best way.
It gets VERY difficult to level the more you spread out your stats due to the amount of Blood Echoes it takes to go up a single stat point at higher levels.
Endurance caps out at 40 (meaning your stamina doesn't go up anymore). Strength and Skill softcap level 25 giving very diminishing returns from then on.
Vit softcaps around level 35 which is arguably the minimum you should go for.

Bloodtinge IMO opinion is the only skill that shows truly great returns past 30~
Arcane can be argued for this too.

Unless you have an S scaling weapon past 25-30 your stats do not affect damage very much.

It is dangerous to spread your stats thin.

that's exactly what I mean though Shaune.
I read critics stating how it's a good idea to just pump 1 or 2 things and leave everything else alone, like Fallout 3 or something, and even from the start. That's bull crap, especially early on. I don't know what to say for the late game or post game leveling. I haven't gotten that far. The game definitely pays you extra for spreading your stats out among 'vitality, endurance and skill' to at least lvl 25 with each. That gets a person to around lvl 70 or so alone. Which would seem to me by then someone is around 2/3 – 3/4 through the entire initial playthrough.

One thing is for sure, it's a dynamic system that changes it's demands based on where you're at in character progress and what you're aiming to do with your character.

EDIT: I've also noticed getting lots of Blood echoes is easier where I'm at now. I can equip the Blood Echo pump up rune thing and hit up the nightmare frontier or something and get 20K-30K echoes in little time.

EDIT2: It's also nice when someone invades you there and you end up taking them out and claiming their souls. Two times now people have invaded me and they've both lost to my sword hehehe. I hit for like 450-500 with my Holy Blade. I don't think they see that coming. I'm excited to try out my beefed up cannon tongiht also (something I found a ways back in the game). It hits for like 400+

and nice, I didn't know what the caps were for vitality and endurance. My vitality is fairly low. I think around lvl 25-26.

btw I'm like lvl 73 or something.
I felt fairly powerful in the last area I was just at. Though the Nightmare Mensis area seems tougher than the Frontier area.

Bloodborne does a fantastic job taking the Souls formula and making it fresh and existing once more.

How are digital copies "shipped"?

They aren't shipped. They are sold through. Gematsu is just trying to make it seem like sony only counts shipped items instead of sold through. Sony never counts shipped items as a total.

This game has been so much fun. I beat it and am at the end in NG+ and going to platinum it with that character.

Right now though I'm playing a character who is level 35 and I just help noobs beat the first 2-4 bosses. I love doing this as my first 2 playthroughs I didn't have PSplus so I'm getting the co op in this time.

I actually want to get some DLC for this game, there is a locked door that never opens in the Cathedral ward, and some other places that look to be DLC worthy.
