It's only a matter of time before we see the official press release. 'waits patiently'
After months of rumor and speculation, it appears that Activision has finally confirmed this year's Call of Duty . It's called "Ghosts" and it seems clear that it'll be available for next-generation platforms.
We're assuming that from the company's new Tweet , which asks you to Retweet the update if you're all psyched for the "next-generation Call of Duty ."
Furthermore, there's a link to a Facebook page with the image you see here: "The Ghosts Are Real." Previously, we had seen plenty of retail evidence that supported the idea that the new CoD had "Ghosts" in the title. Lastly, clicking on the link that brings you to the game's official website shows you that same image, but wandering your mouse over that image reveals all those who Retweeted the aforementioned message. You may also note that the domain is "www.callofduty.com?______"
Yep, looks like the new CoD will release on all consoles available this fall, including the fancy new ones.
As cynical as I am about this series, a next-gen entry might be the perfect opportunity for an overhaul for the franchise. But I'm still cynical enough to have my doubts about it.
"This news surprises me." – No one
Won't it actually look a bit worse on next gen hardware? I mean it's already dated on current hardware.
I'll assume we're not talking about a port, and the new CoD was actually made specifically for next-gen platforms.
If this is cross gen, it won't be a true next gen, right? The issue of getting held back/not enough firepower of being cross gen could be highlighted with this game.
Personally I don't consider cross gen to be next gen but that's just me.
That's my way of thinking too World. And that's why I have some reservations towards any cross gen game, specifically ACIV:BF 'cause it may look great and may have a few new features on PS4 but it may not be at its best because of current gens chaining its true potential… it's so frustrating. :/
I think your right when it comes to the cross gen titles. Look at what happened at Call Duty 3, originally made for the PS2 but not much more techincally advanced for the PS3 but did offer more features for the PS3 version. I think I'm right on that, however I never played the PS2 version of Call of Duty 3.

Considering that they haven't really changed much on the engine front, it's well past time for an update on that front. I'm sure that once they do, they'll be able to amortize the cost over five or six different titles.
Indeed, I am ready to remain unimpressed …
Love all the COD's since 4 so im definitely ready for the new one. Also i want it on the PS4 version just to see how the Trophy System will transition with all the Platinum Trophys i got on PS3 COD's.
We'll get more info on the new COD on May 21st with the Xbox unveiling which is the same date. So it seems it'll still be Xbox's favorite. :/
Technically game will look the same on both next-gen platforms( I beleive that ps4 will be slight better or both versions will be siblings). But this is MS marketing trick to ensure xbox fans that company is in a right track, but honestly for me it is a sign of desperation and that shows MS will use all their money to show that they console is better, but in a reality new Xbox will have pc architecture like PS4 and it means that multiplats will look same, and if next ps4 version of CoD visually will look inferior to new Xbox and devs will say that architectur of ps4 is very complex then we are living in an a big asylum which is financed by MS.
It may look the same but they'll get the same treatment as current gen, like first dibs on DLC, whole marketing is made to look like it's an exclusive (which I've seen this move even on Redbox that they promote Xbox only and they don't even have PS3 games on their boxes…) and a few others.
I'm ready, to hate.
Get ready folks! The next generation of Call of Duty has arrived!
This new Call of Duty installment will set a new graphical benchmark, one that the next 8 Call of Duty games will change to a minimal extent! In other words, get a glimpse into the next 8 years of the franchise with just 1 game!
It's like having ESP! 😀
I'm not excited for anything CoD related.
Activision really should take a 5-10 year break from the entire franchise, then maybe I'll care again.
I think it is physically impossible for me to get excited for this franchise.
I am curious as to what the engine they are using will look like if it is a new one.
So much hate for Cod here. I love you guys.
Turns into a survival horror game. You shoot ghosts, and to save rendering time, they just copy and paste white blobs on the screen.
No seriously, whilst I reckon the new graphics will bring an appealing freshness to COD fans and new players alike, it may soon go rotten. Thing is, there's not much of a graphical upgrade coming for the next generation. But this also mean CoD gameplay won't be outdated much, allowing Activision to continue it's annual reign of fast food shooters. Shit.
definetly coming to next gen consoles as well, xbox AU just put up on their facebook page that they will be showing a preview of this at the next xbox reveal on may 22.
there not going to be showing a 360 game at the event of its replacement!
