Here's Sony's chance to give back, and your chance to play games with a celebrity.

Sony has announced a new PlayStation 4 charity campaign that lets gamers have a shot at playing with celebs like Snoop Dogg and Shaun White.

Sony teamed up with various charitable organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, and the USO. The initiative is dubbed PlayStation Heroes and it kicks off on February 24; a free PS4 app will let users purchase digital content, and "at least 90 percent" of the proceeds will go to charity.

At launch, the three aforementioned organizations will be involved and SCEA will donate $100,000 to each group to get things rolling. If you download that app, you won't just be able to buy content, you'll also learn about about upcoming celebrity gaming events. You can pre-order this app right now and if you do, you'll gain access to new PS4 themes (ranging in price from $1 to $15). Each dollar spent gives the buyer a sweepstakes entry for a Heroes event in March.

That's when Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White will play Destiny for the Make-A-Wish organization, for instance. I wonder if he's any good…
