It could be one of the most innovative and entertaining co-op shooters of 2015.

And if you were involved in the Xbox One beta that ran between January 15 and 19, you've seen the promise of Evolve firsthand.

Developer Turtle Rock studios has published an in-depth blog post concerning the statistics and feedback compiled from that test. It's all pretty encouraging; here are a few relevant stats:

Personally, I think it's a really good sign that Hunters and Monsters basically split in terms of victories, and the average game time was just about ten minutes. This means the matches are of a decent length but not too long, and it also means that Hunters and Monsters are pretty evenly matched. Here's hoping the launch goes well!

Evolve will drop for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 10.

Yeah myself and PS3 Wizard discussed this earlier very briefly. I think the biggest drawback to this type of game is going to be matchmaking. While the game might be balanced, if you are in a group of hunters and the person who is the medic isn't playing the role of a medic, well the match is doomed from the start. The roles play heavily in this game. It pretty much is mini raids.

I believe that could be this games downfall. People will mistake it as being unbalanced and it's really the players who dictate the experience. However, I heard the game has a matchmaking system that places you with others within your level. Hopefully that means they are experienced and get it. Otherwise the game has a ton going for it!

Yeah, seems as if playing with a group of friends might be the only way to go. Playing with randoms with a possibility of being paired with a 10 year old COD player, without an ounce of teamwork in his/her DNA would probably mean utter defeat.
