If you want to play some co-op online, you'll have to wait.

Capcom has confirmed that online play for the Raid Mode in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has been delayed. It will now be available "shortly after" the final episode launches in March.

They want to make sure the co-op "will function as expected," so they need some extra time. However, you can always enjoy solo play and split-screen co-op in the meantime; it's not like Raid is unplayable. You just can't team up with someone online. Raid Mode offers 15 total playable characters and more than "four times" the available skills, so it's definitely a big portion of the game.

The first episode for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be ready to go on consoles and PC on February 24.

Will people have to pay for said raid mode? Capcom is notorious for this sort of thing. They did something very similar with RE5 but I can't remember the mode exactly.

Capcom admitted yesterday that the game will feature micro-transactions.

Both raid mode AND campaign mode will have micro-transactions.

In Raid Mode, you will have the option to use real money to pay for weapons and anything else available for purchase. It's optional, since you can also get those things by completing missions or finding items in the game.

In campaign mode, you can buy 'life crystals' that will give you the ability to start a stage from the point where you died. Without the crystals, if you die near the end of a stage, you have to restart from the beginning.

Capcom kept these micro-transactions under the radar. In fact, Capcom USA barely found out about them yesterday. Who knows what other surprises await RE fans. Because Capcom is not letting you know how things work. Until its too late.
