We should always care about awards that recognize achievement in writing.
The Writers Guild of America has announced the nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing, and the list includes some high-profile titles.
In order to be eligible for the award, the game in question had to be released between December 1, 2013 and November 30, 2014, and the writers need to be members of the WGA Video Game Writers Caucus, or at least have applied to become a member. And here are the nominees:
