Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada has announced a new member of the Tekkn 7 roster: Lucky Chloe, a cat-themed female combatant who may or may not be featured in Asia and Europe.
Western franchise fans are definitely getting more new characters, though, as Harada explained on Twitter . For now, we have no idea when Tekken 7 will land on consoles but we know it'll hit Japanese arcades some time next year. Chances are, we won't see this new installment until the end of 2015 or the start of 2016.
Think Lucky Chloe will be a character you'll want to fiddle around with?

Apparently this character received that much backlash from hipsters that Harada himself is thinking of replacing her with a skinhead character for the Western release. Most likely trolling but still.
Personally i think the whole pink, cutesy, squeeky-voiced, cat-eared, bubblegum Loli has been done to death. DOA did it to vomit-inducing levels of effect, pretty much every 2D beat em up are doing it and now Tekken. Are fighting game devs running out of ideas for characters or something? But people have to remember that these are Japanese made games that are massive in Japan, so the overkill of Japanese culture is going to happen.
Too many people are hanging around Harada's twitter page complaining like they're entitled or something, if you don't like the character, there is a simple solution to combat this world-ending feature: Simply, do not use the character.

yep. it seems like the young cut-ups at NeoGaff ticked Harada off so now it seems likely she'll get axed from the US release.
That'll learn 'em.
Tekken 7 looks like a lazy upgrade if you ask me.
A problem I have with these rosters that grow out of control is that the dev is put in a position to sacrifice quality for quantity.
Virtua Fighter knows how to increase roster count and keep things re-invented feeling.

So far the three new characters they have announced have all been disappointing imo. Claudio looks like Maxi from SC, Katarina looks like Christie with a pair of shades on and Lucky Chloe looks like just another troll character dressed in Loli clothing. I'm only saying this from a design perspective so i should probably hold judgement until i actually use these characters.
What is worrying me most about Tekken 7 at the moment is the characters that aren't in it. Jin, Eddy, Nina, Yoshimnitsu? Where are they? I really hope Namco don't pull a SCV stunt by discarding alot of the classic characters. If you have to cut down the character roster then fair enough as there is probably too many characters there to begin with but if these new characters are the types that are replacing some of the classic ones then this could be another SCV scenario, and we all know how that turned out.

Another chartacter who flips and cheats like Lilli & Alisa… there hasn't been a decent new characters since Tekken 3…
but Tekken 3 was the first Tekken to add characters like Ling and Eddie who are all about cheating and flipping.
So you really mean Tekken 2.
I basically mean Bryan. The problem with Tekken 2 for me is delay input, it's seriously bad. Tekken 3 was perfect for me or TTT2 – which is basically T3 in top tier PS2 graphics. You could argue Steve is a decent character from T4 if your pushing it… But ever since T5 had an emphasis juggling the series has really gone down hill for me.
