A PlayStation Experience Necessity: The Last Guardian

The anticipated PlayStation Experience is just about upon us.

And as far as I'm concerned, Sony only needs to show off one game to get everyone excited. It isn't an established franchise but we have heard it before.

Yeah, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be a critical title for the PlayStation 4, and Bloodborne , The Order: 1886 , and new entries in the award-winning God of War and Gran Turismo franchises will be welcomed with open arms. But there's one project that just needs to return. It needs to be re-unveiled; long-time followers of PlayStation and Team ICO need something to cheer about again. The Last Guardian was initially revealed a long time ago and it's about time that it resurfaces.

Amid swirling rumors of internal issues and mostly silence on Sony's part, gamers have long since become skeptical. And you know, this isn't really Sony's style. Hiding stuff has never been their strong suit, anyway, and "vaporware" isn't exactly their calling card, either. If they want to impress the hell out of me and a lot of other veteran PlayStation fans, they'll present The Last Guardian at the upcoming event this weekend. "Yes, it's coming to PS4 and yes, it'll be here next year." That'd be all I need to know.

I could care less if they show it. I'm over it. Will I get it if it ever comes out? Absolutely. But I'm not sitting here banking the success of Sonys conference on it.

After publicly saying that they revealed the game too early, I'm sure Sony will only present it "if it's ready to do so."

Which is not going to happen. I'm calling it now.

A ways back I couldn't say I cared all that much for the PS Experience. But now I look forward to it. I want to see some real cool stuff so people can finally be taken aback with PS4.

I genuinely forgot about this game… I can't say it is even on my radar, if they ever do re announce it, it will be completely different. I'm not getting my hopes up at all for it to appear this weekend.

i said this a long time ago, this game has pretty much died and sony not saying a single word makes it obvious this games gone. sony is pressured about this game bc of all the internet hype, they screwed up for announcing an unfinished product (or something that wasnt even started or close to being seen publicly)

A neccessity only to those who know what the heck The Last Guardian *is*. I mean, aren't we now way back to the PS2 days? For anyone else – me included – this whole hype is like, "uhm, okay?".

Yeah. I no longer care about it. Like… at all.

I used to be super psyched.

Waiting for Sony to release this game makes as much sense as waiting for Valve to release Half Life 3. It almost certainly isn't going to happen and if it does, it's going to be so drastically different from the built up expectations that the few people still clinging to hope will probably be massively disappointed, anyway.
