If you missed it back in 2008, shame on you.
But have no fear, here's a chance to fix that colossal mistake: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will hit the PlayStation Network on December 16. This will be the first time the game has been made available in a digital format on PS3.
The price is only $20 and for one of the best games of the previous generation, that's a damn good deal. It weighs in at a hefty 30GB but then again, this was a gigantic game so you should be happy it doesn't take up even more space. We gave MGS4 a perfect score way back when, mostly 'cuz it deserved it and anyone who says otherwise is just…silly.
If you're looking for a new game to play in December and you never enjoyed the glory that is MGS4, here's your answer.

Surely everyone who had any interest in Metal Gear Solid 4 has bought it already… also it is dirt cheap pre-owned, I could get 10 pre-owned copies off amazon for that price… bares noting.
This game tops the list of my favorite games played thus far. Please keep your negative comments to yourself, again I said my list (not yours).
If it comes out on PS4 digitally then I would definitely get it. I already have my physical copy signed by Hideo Kojima himself when he came to NYC on launch day.

You lucky bastard.
A masterpiece! The one game that made me get the PS3.
Isnt even close to being the masterpiece Snake Eater is on any level. MGS4 was too bloated and pretentious in the story. 20 minutes of gameplay in Act 3 sandwiched between two 40 minute cutscenes that were only there to attempt explain the byzantine web of silliness put in place by MGS2. Then after that a series of boss fights that pretty much renders every infiltration skill and device aquired in the first 2 acts irrelevant. But back in 2008, the PS3 camp were desperate for a hero, so it was truly overrated. The technical aspects were astounding, especially seamless transition from cutscene to gameplay(something ND admired and added to the Uncharted series).
Still at it eh?
MGS4 > Snake Eater > Peace Walker > Metal Gear Solid > Sons of Liberty.
It's usually those new to the Metal Gear series or had gone so long without playing any of the previous titles that don't realise/remember that long cutscenes in between gameplays is nothing new from them.
MGS > Snake Eater > MG2 > Sons of Liberty > MGS4 > Peace Walker > MG1
Now if this was being put on the PS4, I could see that being a thing. But I really think anyone who was interested got it on ps3 a long time ago.
well i just hope the port comes over well the the from what looks like ps1 or ps2
happy gaming
