If you're eagerly anticipating Planetside 2 on PlayStation 4, here's some good news.
It seems a beta test will be ready before the end of the year. According to what creative director Matt Higby told Eurogamer , that playable test is right around the corner.
And don't be concerned that you haven't heard much about the PS4 version. Higby says they're not "blowing smoke" and they're working very hard to deliver a true, full-on console experience that's "not just like a port." The team has very high aspirations for this iteration and they don't want to disappoint PS4 owners.
"[O]ur goal is at the end of the day to have our launch on the PS4 feel like a great PS4 native console game. Not just a PC port."
Also, they want the game to run at 1080p and 60 frames per second, but they can't guarantee 60FPS. Higby says if they go with 30 "it'll be because we want to maintain a completely solid 30fps. But that's the optimization we're working on right now." Just be patient and we'll let you know about those beta details as soon as we hear anything.
