Such a giant game requires constant vigilance on the part of the developers.

With the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V hitting store shelves next week, Rockstar is prepping for the launch.

As the studio recently announced , this will include a day-one update that features some "last tweaks and optimization fixes." Don't forget that the online portion of the game didn't fare well when it first launched last year, so maybe they're trying to avoid a repeat scenario. And they added:

"We need your continued help, and, maybe, just a little patience if there are any teething problems around the launch on the new systems. We have, of course, tested the game extensively but there is no way our several hundred testers can be quite as comprehensive as millions of players! Please bear with us should any issues arise–we will be working hard to fix any problems that arise, and generally ensure this launch is as smooth as possible."

So, feel free to provide Rockstar with as much feedback as you like. The team will be "looking closely" at this feedback in order to provide us with future updates and patches. Good developers listen to their fans and get things right, ya know?

I suspect all these first-day-patches to also be related to fighting piracy. At least in the PC world.

Im so sick of fn day one updates. What ever happen to finishing the game before it releases. Times like this i miss the old days gaming without the internet

Back then, games were much simpler and bugs were not noticable or gamebraking also.
Besides, you can always dissconnect and pretend like there is no patch:)

Patch is always welcome, if it serves the better experience.

well um they are right that millions will find more than a few thousand but the fact that they are being upfront is nice atleast we don't get that from alot of the big devs and pubs so thats nice
