Established franchises are great but without new IPs, you'll eventually just keep spinning your wheels.
It seems Capcom understands this. During a post-earnings Q&A session , the Resident Evil publisher explained that new franchises are a "priority."
" Creating new intellectual property is one of our priorities. We allocate about 20 percent of our investments each fiscal year to intellectual property and are constantly working on developing new property. "
They added that they don't anticipate new IPs to be huge blockbusters right out of the gate. They're not looking for "an immediate hit;" they just want to "build up this property in stages wile incorporating the feedback and wishes of users." Some gamers question Capcom's commitment to their fans based on previous years, especially in regards to the direction of their esteemed Resident Evil franchise.
As for a new IP, well…we're still waiting on a really special one from this particular publisher. Haven't seen one in some time.
No! Bring back Onimusha you bastardo's.
This x1000000000
what about dragon dogma 2? onimusha or new dino crisis?
I don't get why a company with several insanely popular franchises would choose to either A. ignore them completely (Onimusha) or B. bastardize them to the point of no longer being anything like what loyal fans have come to expect (RE6)
What is wrong with this company?!
Sweet nothing like new IPs time to let the old 1s RIP
A new Onimusha And Dino crisis would be the best news I've heard from capcom
