Ben-DutkaIf you were looking forward to trying out Evolve on PlayStation 4 this weekend, we've got bad news.
The alpha test is going forward for the Xbox and PC, but the PS4 version is having trouble getting started.
As a 2K representative told GameSpot , the test has been delayed for Sony's machine following some network problems:
"Following the recent PS4 2.00 firmware update, we are experiencing difficulties with the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. As a result, the test on PlayStation 4 is postponed. PlayStation and 2K are working together on a resolution. Evolve's closed alpha test is still playable on Xbox One and PC."
Firmware update 2.00 might be causing other problems as well. Here's hoping it's not a big deal, and we'll get a chance to check out Evolve in due time. PS4 update 2.00 delivered all sorts of nifty features to Sony's console but if it starts generating unwanted issues, well…

My PS4 locks up anytime I try to place it into "rest" mode because of the new patch. Sure, new firmware updates are great and all but they're never worth increased bugginess.

I never put it in that evil mode, good thing too.
I am staying offline just so this patch doesn't install. Sad this is ruining people's experience. Hope they resolve the issue for the alpha to play soon.
If u turn the USB ports off in rest mode so they don't charge it seems to resolve the problem

The alpha hasn't impressed me at all. The monster is so underpowered it is hilarious. The matches last 2 mins tops! :/
The monster always starts out weak. He gets stronger over time. He has to try to survive long enough to get to that point. That's the challenge of playing the monster.
Except it never happens. Every match I have played we have finished in less than two minutes. Then it takes around 5mins to start. It really is kinda bad right now. My excitement for the game has gone down because of it. The monster needs to be buffed immediately.
sounds like it depends on the monster to actually be a good player, which may be a bridge too far
That game is even more a rip off then i thought then . Basically you pay 60 for something that is normally an extra mode .
I mean 3 monster + 1 free later and 12 maps lasting 5 – 15 minutes each depending on the player who control a monsters skill don t seem right for that price .
Cost way too much for the content it offer in my opinion .
I m sure those who knows what they are getting into will have fun with it and might feel it s worth the price but those who don t will be pissed for sure .
