Evolution: Improving Driveclub Servers Is “Frustrating”

Evolution Studios keeps hammering away at the server snafus that continue to plague the otherwise fun Driveclub experience.

They've brought most of the multiplayer features back online and the patches continue to roll out, but they admit in a new Facebook update that improving server performance is "frustrating for all of us."

They have made some multiplayer alterations to insure that players get more events, and that "you have more variety when you choose to race with and against other drivers online." They also say they'll keep us in the loop as work progresses. That's probably true; they've been very forthcoming about these problems from the get-go and as unfortunate as they are, it's nice to get these little updates.

The upgradeadable game is still there. The plus version was never a full game so don't do that bs. Also, the delay was to improve the game. Not the servers. Clearly you make tons of games. Have I heard of any? How's the online infrastructure? Yea didn't think so.

Has evolution made any games in the past? Oh yeah they have, and still they can't properly make a network imfracture that works. It's over two weeks now. Don't tell me this isn't something they overlooked. It's silly on their part either way. Delay was to improve the game? You mean the social part being one of the bigger things they were trying to improve? How is that part working? Oh yeah we need to be connected. Even if just graphics n gameplay, is it smart to not make sure servers are at least decent at launch as to delay the ps plus version and hinder the ones that bought the game at full price?

There next project should be a mud based racing game. Imagine how clean it would look on the PS4 😉

yes, the best thing about Drive Club having it rough is the heightened possibility that they decide to go back to Motorstorm.

I disagree Tem, I feel the WORST thing they could do would be to go backwards to Motorstorm. I've bought every home console MS game so far and it's day (as Evo has presented it) has clearly passed. While I have supported the series, it's never been up to the level of Criterion's work, for example. MS actually kinda forecasts the problems they have now. MS in theory was a great idea (all classes against each other on open tracks) but the execution was never there. You'd always end up using 1 or 2 vehicles because the rest just couldn't cut it, and there were more invisible walls than a glass house.
Evo has always had great ideas and "big plans" but they've never had the talent to pull them off. They simply were not ready for this advancement.

From a diehard racing fan that buys virtually everything with wheels, this is completely unforgivable.

Nope. It's still just about the same. Dear Evo, if you want your consumers to take you seriously, don't claim that it's working for the "majority." Myself, and a bunch of my friends can't get properly connected. If we do it's not worthwhile.

I don't appreciate updates that's coated with PR nonsense. Just tell us straight up please.

This should just not have happened with a game that's only available on a single newly released platform.

I'm over this game. I was on the fence about buying it, and glad that they were releasing a PS+ version so I could check it out first. I may still check out the PS+ version, but I won't be buying the full version.
