You know, I was so busy covering the PlayStation Meeting, I never even saw the official advertisement.

But a great many others did. YouTube has released their February 2013 Leaderboard; i.e., the most-viewed ads of the month. And the PlayStation 4 commercial you see here is right at the top at #1.

It even released on February 20 and still managed to claim the top spot with 26.3 million views, in the process beating out a bunch of Super Bowl ads. In fact, the PS4 ad garnered 5 million more hits than the second-place finisher, Samsung Mobile's "The Next Big Thing" (for its Galaxy line of phones and tablets). Not even Pepsi, Jeep, Chevy, Oreo or Ram was able to beat out the PS4…but then again, considering that the vast majority of those interested in the PS4 might be more likely to visit YouTube, this isn't exactly surprising.

Check it out if you haven't already.

I missed it too!

Well edited, it gave me shivers. Pretty much wrapped up the meat of the conference in about a minute (with a little dramatic oomph).

This is exactly what Sony needs. Positive promotion. If they keep this up till launch and have the supply to fill the demand then PS4 is already looking better than the PS3 on day one. Don't sleep Sony!

Nice. Shivers! Stand up and fight hard this generation, Sony! Fight like it's the last generation of gaming console we'll ever see. Cuz it just might be.

I agree that should be how they fight, but I as a gamer wouldn't worry too much. Until a day that internet service is as accessible and reliable to all as electricity or as tv/radio signal, console gaming is here to stay.

O_O!

If Sony can get Kevin Butler back, Micro$oft, you're even in deeper trouble…

Can you imagine what an actual Final Fantasy would be like on this console?

I seem to recall a Microsoft executive somewhere stating that no one would notice the PS4's announcement..

I'm really psyched for the next gen now. And loving how well supported the Vita will be when the PS4 releases. It's already well supported but being able to play PS4 games with the Vita will be something special.

All power to the PS4, it's going to kick major ass, but the hit count on this trailer is pretty unfair if it counts all the pre-ad videos that youtube adds to videos these days because I've contributed to at least 3% of that number just on that alone, and I only watched the trailer once on purpose. Awesome that it's being so noticed, though. 🙂
