Ninja Theory is one of our favorite developers, so any time they want to share details on their new project, we're all ears.

Revealed earlier this year, Hellblade is currently in the works, and the studio wants to share their "development approach" with the fans. Since Gamescom, the team has been updating their site with frequent dev diaries, blog posts, concept art and more.

Now, the latest update can be found over at the PlayStation Blog . It's the fourth dev diary entitled "Creating the World," and bear in mind that they're only using one Environment Artist to bring this fantasy landscape to life. If you didn't know, the Hellblade team consists of a grand total of 13 individuals; whether or not that's cause for concern remains to be seen. For now, the game is entering the prototype phase of development, which means it's still a ways off.

The good news is that despite the small team, they say it's "probably our most ambitious game yet." Cross your fingers for more Ninja Theory magic!

Heavenly Blad… Hell Blade… Original names for sure </sarcasm> … unless they're going to be related in the future.

Day (#)1 Purchase
I hope even though they are small in budget they do make available a proper collector's with a steelbook case(for game), a making of 4-5 hours,
250-300 pages game themed, leather like material embossed artbook, score 'n soundtrack and of course a 27cm statue of the girl protagonist
Finger's crossed

Small chance of that, my friend. The game is, reportedly, going to be released in a digital-only format, owing to the comparatively reduced scope of the game, and the general lack of success for games of this ilk (sadly). Hopefully that changes, but the game is being self-published, so I highly doubt that it will.

I wonder how they plan to have a huge world with such a small team working on it, perhaps a No Man's Sky style world creation procedure?

I wonder if it will be like a PSN game or a real game.

So many questions. I suddenly wanna play DmC again, such a solid slasher.

I will admit DmC was a solid action game with a good story and very nice scenery however, it was a terrible Devil May Cry game if you get what I'm saying.

I do know since I can spot a bad Final Fantasy game ten miles away.

Aside from that DmC would have been perfect for itself if it was at 60fps instead of 30.

They did say that they experimented with procedural generation with Razer and that they're looking to go further with it this time, but if they do go with that, it won't be on the scale of No Man's Sky.

Judging by what was said in there, it really looks as though NT is taking a holistic approach in the design of the game this time around, and attempting to really address the lack of thematic unity seen in most games. I'm really, really encouraged by that. I think that the small team approach is going to help them to work wonders.

I also really like what they said about the scale and scope of the world. I like the way that they say they've gone about its construction, although I'm confused about whether it's going to be an open-world affair or whether it's going to consist of hub worlds, because it doesn't seem as though it's going to be strictly linear as their previous games have been. I hope it's the latter, but it seems as though the team itself doesn't know yet.

I am so intrigued by this game, and I really can't wait to see the end product. NT are just so underrated.

Looks like it could be a very interesting game. Think it is a great idea of NT to show us regular updates of what is going on behind the scenes – makes you realise what goes into the development.
The art style looks really good, can't wait to start exploring. Oh well, few years away yet.
