Bungie Outlines More Public Events And Updates For Destiny

If you're looking for more to do in Destiny , you're in luck.

Bungie has announced fresh updates and challenges that will be delivered in the coming weeks.

First up, you've got the Crucible playlist this weekend, dubbed "Combined Arms." Players can create Fireteams of six for this vehicle-oriented Crucible Mode, and you'll enjoy "more regular" heavy ammo drops. Succeeding here will earn you awesome Crucible gear, marks, and reputation. But it doesn't end there.

Between September 23 and October 6, Bungie will release a bunch of new custom bounties. The Queen's Wrath will force you to face down "enemies of the Reef," and this will include various mission modes with rewards like Unique Legendary Gear and Unique Rare Gear. Looking down the road, fans can expect the Salvage playlist (due out before the end of the month), where "rare artifacts" will be in play. In October, there's a new Crucible playlist called Iron Banner, but we don't have any details just yet.

There should always be new content to sample!

I'm avoiding the Crucible like the plague though.

It can feel pretty imbalanced. Guys with stronger gear can make your life suck.
In one game I can get number 1 for my team and in another right after that I can get last place. Don't think I played worse either. Suddenly my shotgun wasn't powerful enough to do one hit kills.

How what is LV? You don't play with dashing leading men?

HAR HAR HAR! I don't FPS on my consoles. I'm very upset that Bungie (a company I supported on PC) doesn't support the platform with their first game after Halo.

but Bungie hasn't put out a game since Halo 2 on PC. A game that went to show how different PC culture was at accepting a watered down console FPS. The scores went to crap PC-side.

but I expect Destiny to arrive sooner or later, PC-side.

Bungie should add this boss battle to their impress lineup.
Just skip to 1:45 or so to get to the good Destiny calibur stuff.

and this one too.
Spider-brain gattling gun boss would be sweet in Destiny.

I was referring to their work prior to Halo. They've done far more for PC/Mac than consoles. I expect it to arrive on PC as well but by then you will have all moved on and it won't be nearly as fresh.

It's kinda like Elder Scrolls Online. I've already got that out of my system (for the most part) and by the time it arrives on consoles I will be doing something else.

The problem is that nobody remembers (or even knows) that Bungie existed before Halo. Most console owners that came into gaming with the PS3/XB360 don't know anything of the real history of games (all starting on PC).

I might try this out but Titanfall pretty much owns competitive FPS to me.

the only reason i run crucible is for the rep/$.

higher leveled people isnt the problem for me. its the carbon copy cod shotguns that kill from a mile away with one hit. also the fact that i havent been able to land a powerful primary weapon bc i dont have enough rep yet.

the shotguns need to be addressed/fixed ASAP.

i dont think it's the shotguns hitting you from far away. it's probably hand cannons, snipers, or scout rifles.
I know about the shotgun thing because I always get dead fast when using them on open maps.

thats the thing, as soon as i die, i look at the left corner to see what type of weapon it was, and majority of time, shotgun. (and i was exaggerating when i said a mile away bc i was referring to cod)

And these updates are said to be even more amazing after 20 hours.

I think that means after lvl 20. And lvl 20 just means you've accepted the reality that you've already seen all the content the game has and now it's all about grinding your way through the same stuff, but harder, to be a legend.
I'm a hair away from lvl 22. I'm building gear that is lower spec in hopes that it increases in Light to put me up over the top.

Gotta correct you there, Tem. At level 20 you have not seen all of the content because alot of content only opens up after you pass Level 20. It then opens up every two levels (Level 20, 22, 24, 26, etc) so there;s way more to the game than grinding.

wrong. it's the same content as far as missions go. it's just configured harder. The only new content comes in the form of gear. I've been doing post 20 grinding for about 10 hours already. I should know. I'm not sure if you do though.
