It was previously rumored that the new updated version of GTAV was delayed until 2015.

Fortunately for owners of next-gen consoles, that rumor was only partly correct. While the PC version is indeed delayed until January 27, 2015, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V will launch on November 18.

All three versions will benefit from better detail and longer draw distances, and fans can also expect additional wildlife, denser traffic, a new foliage system, enhanced damage and weather effects, and new weapons, vehicles and activities. In other words, you'll be looking at the absolute definitive version of Rockstar's insta-classic. Pre-ordering the console or PC iteration will net you $1,000,000 in virtual cash to spend in GTAV and its online component.

The radio stations will receive over 100 new songs and DJ mixes, too, which is great. As for GTAO, the player count is increased, as up to 30 players can throw down on the PS4 and Xbox One. All existing upgrades and content for GTAO will be available in the new versions, with "much more to come." Even the current PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will receive exclusive new content!

Oh, and if you bought and played GTAV on the PS3 or 360, you'll be able to transfer your save data to the upgraded version. …and that's all I needed to know.

I wonder if the delay on PC means it will come for SteamOS/Linux too… I don't think the PC version of GTA has ever been this long after the console release. Maybe it's that extra platform that takes time.
One can hope!

As for me, the troika of GTA, Dragon Age and Far Cry will be my system seller. That's one darn hot startup collection!
Can't wait!

It's probably due to them putting it on the back burner so they could crank out the ps4/xbone versions first.

I seem to remember quite the wait stateside for the PC release of GTA3.
If I do play this I'll likely grab it discount on Steam.

GTA II came to PC around six months or so after the console version. Each major entry after that has added about one month more to the previous wait time. The wait for this new entry is just beyond absurd. My only hope is that they actually spent time on optimizing this one as GTA IV was really buggy when they finally did release it. It's sad when modders have to patch the game to make a game run more efficiently.

Temmy, I imagine it was around 3/4 of a year to wait for Vice City, Geobaldis estimate of eight moths or so sounds about right.

Demon may have a point, maybe it was the new generation consoles who was the reason it took this long. Sounds plausible, at least.

I'm very, very unsure what platform to buy it on, but when I think about it I think it'll be on PC, simply cause this is a game I very much can enjoy for many many years, long after I've sold the PS4 again.

I'll have the time to wait it out until the PC version releases. If it's not as buggy as the recent multiplat games, then I'll give it a go on the PC. If it cons outweigh the pros, then PS4 it is. Not investing past my 7950 Dual-X (better on average than the 7970 with it OC'd to 1150/1575) and only gaming @1080p with a 24" monitor.

PC games have been extremely poor lately with horrendous optimization. It's really a shame. Still not over AC:BF just completely hogging up one core all the time and running some overtaxed coding on the GPU end. If a R9 290 can't handle it at 1080p, then I have very little hope of enjoying it with my way inferior card. Boo!

Here's to hoping that Rockstar does the PC version a solid!

I wonder what an Ice Enhancer on GTA5 would look like. Ice 3 on GTA IV looks FANTASTIC.

Also I'd drool if they would either revisit Vice City, the 80's, or if they could put VC or Liberty City as an Online expansion. These will probably never happen, but a man can dream right?

iCEhancer would be nice, and maybe we'll see it in the future. Last I heard form the creator though is that he wouldn't be doing any more for a while since the online community has consistently ragged him.

Figured it would be out before xmas. I'm sure that Destiny took center stage on both systems in order to push/maximize sales. Now can't wait til November and shoot up Los Santos all over again!!
