Thus far in 2014, we haven't seen too many gigantic titles. In fact, many will argue that the best releases thus far are actually updated versions of 2013 games.
That all being said, which game have you spent the most time with this year?
I've bounced around so much that it's difficult to say. I suppose at this point, it would still be inFamous: Second Son , just because I hit 100 percent and took my time. However, that being said, I've also put a lot of time into the classic Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance (four play-throughs) and I know I'll be spending plenty of hours killing things in Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition . It's just so hard to stop playing! Most other games, I just spent a normal amount of time with; enough to finish it, and that's about it.
So, what about you?
Wolfenstein… I played it like 4 times to get the Platinum, followed by Second Son and Fifa
DOA5 Ultimate
Gran Turismo 6
Mass Effect 3
ACIV Black Flag "Aye matey"
Infamous SS
Crysis 3
Titanfall
Grid 2 (maybe that was late last year. can't remember)
Minecraft (not!)
…and I've plunked down about 20 hours into Xenogears this year.
I'm probably forgetting something but that seems about right.
EDIT: but, yea, DOA5 U has got to be tops in terms of time spent with GT6 being way up there too.

…and Xenogears is one big jrpg. I'm at about 50 hours. It seems like the story is starting to narrow towards a finale… sorta, so I'm thinking about another 10-15 and it'll be over.
Have you reached the second disc yet?
I can't remember haha.
but I'm underwater with my gears right now to go shut down gate 3. Just previously I did the whole raise Babel Tower and shoot a big beam at it's mirror thing.
You're a fair ways in, but I bet you still have at a minimum, another 20+ hours to go.
It's a huge game. But it was my favourite on PS1.

Maybe in Murica.

What game took the most of your time and you list ten different games? LOL Clearly you didn't understand the question, Temjin.
Tekken: Revolution, followed by Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Oddly enough, probably Lightning Returns. I think it was like a 40-50 hour game even though there's only a few hours of story content. Had to see how it ended and finish what I started.
Second probably Bound By Flame.
I freak'n loved Lightning Returns =p

Loved the combat and gameplay tbh.
The combat was fun and I got to play dress up a lot. That battle system with a party would have been cool in FFXIII.
So far for me it's been mostly XCOM, with some Dwarf Fortress, and Civilization 5 thrown in there. But Sims 4 is going to eat all my time when it comes out next week.
Hey, another late bloomer on Xcom! How cool. 🙂
Why did you come so late to the party? My reason is the release of the Linux version. Same with Civ5 by the way, that's a game I've not even started playing yet. 🙂
Personally, I think that Alpha Centauri is at good as a Sid Meier game gets. I'll have to get around to Civ 5 at some point, though.
I started XCOM a while back but just never went back to it because there was always something new coming out it seemed like. Now that the summer has been so slow, I went back to it. I never really enjoyed the original franchise back in the old days, but I really like the new one. I'm looking to get the board game when it releases later as well. Civ 5 is just one of my favorite games right now. I can play any Civ game at any point. Especially with the expansions installed. Just awesomeness all the way around.
Alpha Centauri was great back in the day as well. I'm really looking forward to the new Civ since it's going out in space and looks really great from what I've seen in action thus far. Pandora: First Contact is also really good as well if you haven't tried that one.
Also, if you like XCOM, then check out Hard West. It's on Kickstarter right now with around a week or so left.

Up until now it would have been Black Flag, but I'm sensing Diablo 3 will take the lead soon enough. Just starting Act 3 now.
Final Fantasy X HD followed by Dark Souls 2 ending with Revengeance. Weird list lol
Dark Soul's 2, I've a few hundred hours and four or five playthroughs and it just made me not want to play anything else for a long while. Even now having put it down for a couple of months, just talking about it makes me want to fire it back up.
Final Fantasy X, a HD re-release of a PS2 game… This has been a rather forgettable year, probably because the flood of releases in 2013 was just too good! That and he release of the new systems still I downtime.
Mass Effect… It's just about the only game I've played this year. :/
Been busy?
Between uni, work, writing, and spending time with my girlfriend, I've been practically run off my feet. It's been crazy, but in a good way. 🙂
The most time this year has very likely gone to Xcom: Enemy Within. Just like Crysis 2 revived my interest in shooters back then, Xcom has revived an interest in a genre that's been laying dormant in my mind for many years now: Turn based strategy games.

We talking PS4 only stuff, or does PC count?
More and more, I find myself going back to the gaming days of old, as this newer stuff just ain't cutting it for me. (with some notable exceptions)
On PS4, I've spent a good 60-100 hours in Battlefield 4, and another 10-30 hours in WatchDogs.
For PC, I've spent a good 300-400 hours in Team Fortress 2, and around 30-50 hours in Civilization 5.
Though, aside from WatchDogs, I've been spending very little time doing actual gaming on the PS4 lately, pretty much using it as a glorified Crunchyroll and Netflix device. I'm not really looking forward to any future releases, either. Hopefully this changes with time.
Hmmm…. Dc Universe Online, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, Saint's Row 4 and Saint's Row the Third
Tie between:
– Ultra Street Fighter 4/SSF4:AE
– Persona 4 Arena
Now that Tales of Xillia is here, the RPGs will take back the throne..
I guess that would be few hundred hours for D3 on PC untill I dropped it for good realizing there are so many cool games to play and I wasted so much time trying to get that one item that never dropped for me. Because this is what this game is about – collecting loot for unknown reasons (it's so addicting). And so I bought PS4 and already finished 5 sweet games. I am tormenting AC4: Black Flag now.
Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis IV, Killzone: Shadowfall, War Thunder and ACIV would be the top five. Had fun diving deeper into some PC strategy games while enjoying some of the better PS4 games released so far :).
Crusader Kings 2 is just awesome. The Game of Thrones mod makes it the ultimate grand strategy game.
The new dragon age game will!
Oh yeah.
I've played Drakengard 3 and Tales of Xillia 2 the most.
Just… a whole crapton of FFXIV.
FF14: A Realm Reborn has been taking a lot of my time, as well as some Battlefield 4 mixed in. When not playing on those, I am usually playing SP TLOU:R or MP with a friend.
nothing really, nothing interesting and worth that amount of time has released yet.
and the sad thing, im yet to see something releasing for the rest of the year worth that either!
christ, and people b*tched the ps3 had no games!
one ive probably played the most this year is FC3 with my oculus rift DK2 though, god that game in VR, especially the para sailing!!!!!!!
just cause 2 too, taking a jet fighter up to the sky and diving out in VR, oh god here comes the motion sickness again!
For games released in 2014, Second Son would be the one. Overall though, it would be GTA V. GTA Online has managed to keep my interest even after all this time.
I think like World it might be Lightning Returns. Went through twice to platinum same with Infamous second son but infamous is a much shorter game.

Dark Souls 2 — 200+ hours
Last edited by MRSUCCESS on 8/29/2014 10:45:01 AM
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (130hrs, all 3 single players, snake tales and 85% VR missions with Raiden so far) and still have 3 more characters in VR.
Easily FFX HD. Nothing else has even come close to the hours I've sunk into this game this year.
I'm gunning for platinum, but there are some really time consuming challenges…
Took me 130 hours to nail it, not sure if I even want to start X-2…

Dark Souls 2
Zen Pinball. My girl is willing to play everyday.
An oldy, fallout new vegas incl all dlc about 130 hours.
And now i'm glad i could buy Blood omen 2 for the gamecube[very old but also much fun to play],
it's a game in the legacy of kain series, great atmosphere/story and the best vampire series
is a very good question to pose because while we always THINK we play what our "faves", the results are far different from the replies. I've probably put 60+ hours into Skyrim this tear (well over 400 hours total) and nearly that much into both WWE 2K14 and NFS Most Wanted. The other game game I think I've sunk lots of time into (beside Madden for my Online league) is Minecraft. Despite the fact that will clearly state I am not a Minecraft fan, I will be on it for 6-7 hours when I do get on (mostly with my daughter who is way more active than I am). My PS4 gets no love (for another two weeks when Desyiny makes me pack my PS3 into a closet or somewhere).
But I love when people say "My favorite game is…" and then never play it.
I was stuck on last of us multiplayer now I'm stuck on Plants vs Zombies but now I bought METRO Redux trying to beat them both before Destiny then Mordor then Far Cry 4
i've bee playing through motorstorm apocolypse and a bit of BF3 on PC and a lil bit of runescape as i wanted to check on my account from back in the day and just ended playing for awhile thats been me for that last week or so
happy gaming
