Well, of course.
It seems like every new game we hear about for the new generation is an open-world sandbox title, and the new project from Metro developer 4A Games is no exception.
According to what studio boss Oles Shishkovstov told Eurogamer , their new game will be less linear but still "hugely story-driven." We'll believe it when we see it…
"For the game we are working on now, our designers have shifted to a more sand-box-style experience – less linear but still hugely story-driven. I will not go into details, but it requires some work from programmers as well. Also, we are improving graphics in very different aspects, like recently we did a physically-based global ambient occlusion (instead of local, like SSAO). I will not talk about PBR (physically-based rendering) here, because here we are at the stage when artists are still adapting their mentality to it."
We have no further details on the game but for the time being, we'll assume that it's being prepped for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. By the way, if you never played Metro 2033 or Metro: Last Light , you should seriously consider picking up the recently released Metro Redux , which just shipped this week.
I liked last light and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to getting redux so that I can play 2033.
Long live that "slight delay in realization" stealth mechanic!!!

New IP! *claps*
I really love how this industry is not all UK or US based. I guess it's just a matter of time when the productions are so expensive it's only the huge corporations left making the AAA's, but until then let's enjoy this!
Prefer giving my money to the little guy.
Me too – plus there's something about "foreign" products (and it's sick that I as a Norwegian call non-US products "foreign", it goes to show how screwed up and unbalanced things really are) and how things are done slightly different. A touch of a slightly different culture, a fresh stroke, a zip of fresh air, call it what you like, but I like it.
