Battlefield 4 Appears To Be PS4-Bound

Will Battlefield 4 be another of those generation-straddling games? Could it be?

It seems possible. During a recent investor conference call (as cited by Joystiq ), Electronic Arts chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said he saw "the new Battlefield " running on the PlayStation 4.

EA hasn't officially announced that Battlefield 4 is coming to any next-gen consoles; in fact, they haven't confirmed any platforms for the highly anticipated franchise entry. Jorgensen added that although EA wasn't at the PlayStation Meeting where Sony revealed the PS4, this doesn't translate to a lack of initial support. "I'd say between now and E3, you're going to see a lot of stuff from us," he said. And here's the quote referencing BF4 on the PS4:

"The technical power on the platform is going to allow us to do a substantial amount of things that we've never done before. I've seen the new Battlefield and it is stunning, I mean it is just amazing; what the imagination of the game developers are allowed to do with that much power."

Watch Dogs , Destiny and Diablo III have all been confirmed for both the PS3 and PS4, and you can expect more titles to be available for both consoles during the early days of the new PlayStation machine's life span. Seeing Battlefield 4 added to the list wouldn't shock anyone.

We got another straddler. Will CoD follow suit or will its visual outdatedness just look silly on next gen hardware?

Lol. For whatever reason, I forgot about CoD, wow. Now I'm curious as to what it's going to look like. It would be a bonehead thing to do if they're going to use the same 2006 engine.

I thought they said they'd be working on the next BFBC first…? Darn.

I prefer Battlefield Bad Company 3, haven't played Battlefield 3 but I heard it's more CODish playing/not enough team work with just the bigger maps.
