When you don't have a ton of details about an upcoming game, sometimes you have to do some translation.
Here's a clip of a creepy Swedish radio broadcast that describes a world that is, evidently, rife with aliens. Those who have heard about the famous Orson Welles radio performance from October 30, 1938 should take note.
"The radio drama from 75 years ago was the truth," so says the video, and the timeline does match up with Welles' performance. The latter generated mass panic when the US listening audience thought it was a real newscast; in fact, it was a piece of fiction based on HG Wells' 1898 classic sci-fi novel, "The War of the Worlds." In the new "Silent Hills" games, it seems the focus will be on aliens:
"They are here, on our Earth. And they oversee and see all. Don't trust the news. Don't trust the police. They are already controlled by them. So has it been for 75 years now."
Yep, freaky.
Okay, just lost all faith in Silent Hill. F*ck why do they do this sh*t?
Goddamn f*cking aliens!?

As if those UFO endings in past Silent Hill games don't exist.
Guillermo del Toro is involved. That's all I need to know. Have some faith, sweetie.
Those are joke endings, not to be taken seriously. Kojima lost his damn mind.
The only way Guillermo can make this stick is if he keeps his obsession with H.P. Lovecraft going, THAT could technically be considered alien stuff although it is actually good old American horror in reality.
In either case, E.T. has nothing real to do with the horror in Silent Hill.

You are a negative nancy aren't you World?
He ran out of bud, it happens. Plenty of endings in the SH series have involved aliens. If they are used for this game I trust the people involved to still make the game true to what makes the SH so fantastic.
I'm not a negative Nancy I'm a positive Peter!
Horror is horror, it's supernatural. Yes you can mix them with like "Signs" but this is Silent Hill. It's about a haunted town, not an extra terrestrial conspiracy that's X-files. Am I the only one who gets this?
World,
So, it's still doesn't occur to you that maybe it's a hint of a ufo joke ending in this game?
That would be a terrible joke, no such thing will occur to the sane-minded.
A possible nod by Hideo Kojima and Del Toro to a familiar tradition in Silent Hill is a terrible joke? When I first heard of this translation, it's the first thing that came into my mind.
And it's not out of ordinary that the new Silent Hill game will have a UFO ending.
Yeah a terrible joke for fans that want a return to silent hill greatness to hear that it would be undermined entirely by a plot about alien invasion.
This info isn't about a joke ending, it's about an overall plot.
What I'm trying to say is that it's possible that those Swedish radio transmission in the P.T. is a nod by Kojima and Del Toro to the ufo endings of past Silent Hill or a hint of a return of ufo ending in the new Silent Hill game. Not just an automatically overall plot of the new game.
World, how do you know that the entire Silent Hills series hasn't actually been about Aliens?
Maybe the haunted town was haunted because of something Aliens were doing?
😉
haha.
There's always the possibility of an alien invasion occurring outside of the haunting, which renders the haunted town hopeless of outside intervention..?
I don't think aliens are the ultimate reason for the haunt as it just doesn't seem to have the "Sh!t your pants" effect.
I shit my pants pretty badly while watching Signs.
