Those with a completionist mentality better clear their calendars from about mid-November on.

During EA's Gamescom press conference, BioWare boss Aaryn Flynn said that in testing, a recent completionist playthrough of the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition came in at 150 hours. That's pretty nuts.

Joystiq got more information from producer Cameron Lee:

"So that's basically, if I did what we call the critical paths, so the major story of the game, and if I went explored all the areas and did the side-content that's in all those areas, [and] did any companion side content, that would take 150 hours."

Lee added that "it's comparable to all other BioWare games" in terms of normal length; in other words, how long it'll take most people to simply finish the campaign. He said he normally clocks "anywhere between 30 and 40 hours" but as he noted, "it's different for everyone." Well, how many hours do you think you'll invest into the new Dragon Age ? And bear in mind that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for February…

Witcher3 above all. I'd even pick it up before FFXV if it released around that time since SE has chosen to make that into Final Fantasy Kingdom Hearts edition.

Not so much chosen to as to sticking with the original plan. Its like saying Konami decided to make Metal Gear Rising into Metal Gear Solid Devil May Cry/Dynasty Warriors/God of War edition. It was always meant to be a spin off gameplay wise. Yes it's too bad it became a main entry judging from the title change. Anyway I'm just being technical lol. Please don't mind me.

Other than gameplay it's said to keep other elements of what made ff great n if I can have that it's FFXV all the way for me. It's not like the witcher or dragon age is traditional rpg anyway. They're all action.

This is gonna be great. I always felt that Dragon Age 2 got way too much of a bad rap. Hopefully, both this and Witcher 3 can find equal amounts of great success.

I put Inquisition above Witcher simply due to the characters. I've always loved the characters in BioWare RPGs, while the Whitcher has a very different atmosphere and characters, much more serious and less cheerful.

This is worrying – had a look at how many hours i've put into skyrim -> 310 and still counting. This is 2 separate playthroughs, got sidetracked with gta v on the first 1, and was 150hrs into that – came back to skyrim a couple of months ago and thought I better start over as I've forgot the story!

I can absolutely see myself clocking over 150 hours. This game is shaping up great.

Dragon Age: Inquisition, Destiny, Alien: Isolation, and Shadow of Mordor all come out this fall. It's been a quiet summer but man, next-gen is coming on in a huge way starting month.
