The cardboard box is an iconic object from the esteemed Metal Gear Solid franchise.
But it has never been more diverse and effective than it'll be in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain . The new Gamescom trailer shows off the box's many great uses.
Okay, so it's a little strange. And enemies can't be that bright if they mistake drawings for real people but then again, that's part of the MGS charm. Not only can Big Boss pop out of the box and take down an enemy with ease, he can also present the enemy with either a comrade or a hot chick; again, it's just a drawing but it seems to work awfully well. I happen to like the part where he hides inside a PlayStation 4 box. I mean, that's just precious.
The Phantom Pain is due out some time later next year.

I realize this was tongue-in-cheek but it would have been nice to see more gameplay.
I can't believe how many features the card board box now has.
Most useful tool in the game much?
Actually to be honest, this trailer did sort of go some way to redeeming this game. It has gone from 'not purchasing' to 'let's see how it goes'.
I need this game in my mitts right now.
My most anticipated game, nothing even comes close. This is prime example on how Metal Gear can bring in humour with taste.
Also, there should be a 25 min gamplay demonstration today at GamesCom. I hope its aired as I would love to see it – Not that I need convincing after the last 30 gameplay trailer but the game just looks too good, I need more!
Really!? Can't wait to see that. With metal gear you can watch all the trailers you want and you know it will never spoil the game for you b/c there's always 10 fold more to the game when you finally play it and wrap you mind around it.
The c-box sure has come a long way since the Metal Gear MSX days. Tech wise anyways, not so much maturity wise.
Just when we all thought the next chapter was going to be on the serious end we see Snake trying to fir awkwardly into a PS4 box.
MGS charm indeed.
yeah looked pritty funny aye
happy gaming
