What Does PS4 Need More: God Of War Or Gran Turismo?

We all know the PlayStation 4 suffers from a current lack of exclusive software.

Of course, it's still early yet, and I've no doubt the PS4 will once again be home to the most innovative, cutting-edge exclusives of the generation. It'll begin with LittleBigPlanet 3 later this year, and continue with Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End in 2015.

However, which is the franchise PlayStation followers most want to see right now? I think it comes down to a new entry in one of two franchises: Either God of War or Gran Turismo . For the latter, Kazunori Yamauchi said late last year that Gran Turismo 7 is only "a year or two away," and we all assume Sony Santa Monica is working on a God of War installment for the PS4. The question is, which will result in a bigger hardware sales spike? Which is the game that will be considered the better system-seller?

At this point, it's difficult to say. Any ideas?

I couldn't tell the difference between Driveclub and Gran Turismo if I tried, so I gotta go with Kratos.

Gran Turismo. Hands down, it's Sony most popular franchise, and even though a lot of fans seems down on GT6, I think that a new entry on PS4, so long as it is up to the series usual high standard. I want a new IP from Santa Monica (or a Heavenly Sword 2 if NT isn't working on one)…

In my opinion, id like to see both games, but i would rather see GT7 more then GoW.

Both franchises were damaged with their last games. the last Gow and GT weren't bad but they didn't deliver the quality we expected, that said I prefer a GoW to be released first(no more prequels please unless we get to use Zeus).

think Agent or Last Gaurdian would boost PS4… at this time now both should be revealed cause couple years past since anounced at time of Ps3… been slipping on MGS but i think MGSV do numbers… forgot its multiplat.

GOW i dont want it to turn Assasins Creed… at this point cant imagine whats left for Kratos.

GT7 would boost Ps4.. if it stays true to its roots… playing GT6 lot of folks feel a way content is missing & problems not resolved… to me Kaz delivered fundamentally & sim but game wise it was lackin compared to GT5 content. these past months GT6 got improved alot but folks who play it as a game got some to say.. those who use it as a sim know for its bargain nothing else compare.

With Driveclub and Project Cars coming, I'd have to say God of War. Project Cars looks like a big deal, so Gran Turismo may have some real competition.

I'd say neither, one thing is that none of those franchises has been of much interest to me, but mainly because it my impression that the two has faded also in the eyes of the (former) fans.

No, what I believe the PS4 need more than anything is *new* exclusive franchises, built around modern ideas and genres.

I've been down voted for saying the same thing.
I hope Uncharted 4 is the first and last Uncharted on the PS4.
Give us the new stuff! Enough with the Remaster talk, and enough with the sequels as well!!!
Grand Turismo sequels are fine, it is a racing game/simulation after all.

They couldn't even make a GoW better than GoW2 in 8 years. I have little faith in Santa Monica to create something compelling out that franchise. Time for a new IP! Can't wait! Oh…Sony cancelled it. Good grief.

As for GT, well that framchise was outclassed by the competition last gen. And word is they are keeping those standard ps2 cars in the new version. Way to go, Kaz. Keep making movies of you pretending to be a racer and giving us garbage to play. Gooooooood grief.

Forza couldn't outclass Mario Kart.

You should use your forza rewind feature (so Classy for a racing… Sim?) and retract that hellacious comment.

GT has great physics. I road race cars as a hobby and have put a few cars through the ringer. GT6 did a great service by adding in nose-dive stability from corner turn-in. The general physics are a slight miss; turn out stability is close, but a bit too numb. Acceleration is great. Environmental aspects are close, but suffer the most lack of real life feedback from Temps (tires remain colder with less bite), humidity (power killer on naturally aspirated engines), and wind direction (skews visibility in tire smoke, "pushes" cars at high speed straights, and induces higher engine Temps/weak accel when driving against the wind).

In general, forza is way more arcade-like. Rewind features are stupid. Practice show reward you; not rewinding to the straight every time you complete ruin the apex turn-in.

GT series isn't just about graphics or noise (sorry; these engines can sound like lawn mowers and I'll still be just fine relating engine sound to RPM); it's physics that make it great.

Then GT isnt outclassing Outrun going by your logic. Forza were complete racers while GT was a half assed release that needed a bunch of updates to make some semblance of being complete and even then it fell short. Forza is "head and shoulders above" GT in nearly every aspect and any unbiased comparison would show "it's not even close."

I know having a completely optional feature such as rewind that will help budding enthusiasts through the learning curve is just horrible. We should burn it and any other game that has different stages of difficulty to acclimate players. Just GT and Broodborne for all!

In what comparisons, exactly? Forza isn't a sim. It's a game with some racing involved. It's meant to look really pretty and make a racer out of someone who would end up in a wall in real life.

IIn GT, if you'd end up in a wall in real life, that'll be your outcome in the sim. Is it as pretty as Forza? It's close, but not intended to look over the top. The realism that GT captures isn't intended to be overwhelming and vibrant. It's intended to simulate reality.

So, in an essence, you're right. Forza is "heads and shoulders" above GT as a GAME meant to look and play pretty. Realism and physics in the GT series absolutely rape Forza.

Take it from someone who drives cars on a track and not exclusively in a living room.

i say neither. the Ps4 needs new IPs not old IPs from last-Gen we need games like Agent or Last Gaurdian. If sony must do another God of War do a remaster first. Do all the games God of Wars 1-3, the two PsP games and that other game…. Since we aready know CarPorn 7 Well be coming out why even talk about it

Why not both , just knowing those 2 game are on their way would sell ps4 before they are even out . Let s not forget there is also The order coming in February and that will at least bring people who cares about getting a game that look next gen to the ps4 side .

GOW.
GT7 will surely sell more, but GOW4 will deliver allot more and also show allot more about what the ps4 is truly capable of.
GT tech can only go so far, GOW has so much more potential for scale and so much more.

This isn't going to be a generation that is won with sequels, but new IP's.

I'm still waiting on my GoW for Vita…….

Being a bigger fan of GT I have to go with GT first.
I also totally reject the idea that GT is no longer popular or no longer a respected franchise that would be better left alone.
It is the torch bearer when it comes to full on driving simulation. It's not GT's fault that some non-sports gamers want things more sensationalized and over the top with open worlds and cops and robbers dramatizations.

Need more driving simulators on PS4…or even just 1 driving simulator. I love God of War series more than Gran Turismo, but a solid driving simulator is desperately needed. They're the RPGs of racers, dammit!

New IPs.

Burnt out on God of War (unless they decide to reboot the series with a new protagonist) and don't care at all about Gran Turismo.
