It's everything you've always wanted – or needed – to know about Bungie's hugely anticipated Destiny .

In addition to a new beta trailer , we received a whole host of information concerning Activision's latest blockbuster.

First, the confirmed dates for the upcoming beta: July 17 for PS3 and PS4, at precisely 10 a.m. PDT, and on July 23 for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. This will include a "diverse sampling of major activities" from the full game, and it's open to anyone who pre-orders the game. For the record, the beta will be offline between July 21 and 22, and will end on July 27 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

Then there's the freshly announced Expansion Pass, which will go for $35 and features access to two expansions. These expansions will deliver new story missions, co-op activities, and competitive multiplayer arenas, along with new weapons and equipment. The first pack is called The Dark Below (set beneath the surface of the Moon), and the second is entitled House of Wolves. We'll get details on the latter expansion at a later date. Each expansion will retail for $20 if you don't get the Expansion Pass.

PlayStation fans will get additional bonus content for these packs, too, and they'll be exclusive to the PS3 and PS4 "at least" until fall 2015. Last but not least, the publisher revealed no fewer than three special collector's editions:

Destiny Limited Edition ($100)

Destiny Ghost Edition ($150)

Destiny Digital Guardian Edition ($90)

Check out some juicy pics over at the PlayStation Blog ; these sets look bad-ass! All of this in addition to the special $450 PS4 Destiny bundle package . Destiny will be ready to go on September 9 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Oh man. I REALLY want that Ghost Edition.

Unfortunately all of my local EB Games stores are only get 4 copies per store, and can only offer them to the first 4 people who pre ordered.

So I will have to wait and see if I was one of them.

Yeah i know.

I don't think I have ever seen a Collectors Edition THAT limited in AUS.

Maybe they will get more stock before launch.

Woah Woah, the only way to get into the beta is to pre-order the game? What the what? I saw promise in the alpha and wanted another shot at it.

Entitled World thinks alpha players should be allowed into the beta.

Just pre order the game, get the beta code, then cancel your pre order 🙂

You'll get an exclusive badge for playing the Beta on the 26th!

what sucks is that none of these are limited or collectors as there is no numbering on them, which doesnt make them individually unique. but i def would love the ghost edition. that means ill have to sell my copy from the white ps4 bundle.

I don't remember the last time I seen a numbered edition from a game developer.

But considering the Ghost Edition sold out worldwide within a few hours, I would say it is pretty limited, and a collectors item.

I'll have to watch some videos of this game because it definitely doesn't catch my interest whatsoever.

If you haven't watched any videos so far, then how do you know it doesn't interest you?

Description alone?

That kinda sucks. You should have at least given the Alpha a go to see if you MIGHT enjoy it.
