inFamous: Second Son, DriveClub On Display For The PS4

A few surprises have showed up during tonight's PlayStation Meeting. All right, so they're not total shocks, but the titles of the games in question might raise an eyebrow or two.

Sony is still announcing new games for their freshly revealed PlayStation 4. In addition to Killzone: Shadow Fall , two more have arrived: inFamous: Second Son by developer Sucker Punch and DriveClub from Evolution Studios.

We always thought the former team was working on inFamous 3 but we never really dreamed it'd be a PS4 exclusive rather than a PS3 title. The presentation they showed was pretty damn fantastic, by the way. As for Evolution, they've done well with the MotorStorm series this past generation, but their new project is all sorts of revolutionary. It's a first-person driving game where we'll visit exotic locations and let players compete in clubs, asynchronously and in real-time.

And the games just keep coming. Media Molecule's project is on stage right now… Yep, it looks excellent.

Omg! This alone assures a ps4 for me sooner then later! Interested to see how they'll continue it. I don't really care tho.

It might be Cole's brother. He did say he had one, but they didn't talk much after he got his powers.

Yeah that would rule, maybe their DNA made them special for accepting the raysphere.

Second Son looks awesome but I was hoping Cole's story would continue. Maybe we can still hope for it to close out on PS3 before PS4 releases?

Nah, Cole's story had a perfect and heroic closure.

I'd like them to continue the story from another character's perspective like the resistance series did.

I just noticed something. This could also be Cole himself when you think about the Evil Ending. I know he looks different here, but they've changed him before.

SPOILER:

And if you notice his powers, they look a lot like The Beast's

Other Spoiler:

I was under the impression that Cole was to be resurrected (if you saw the hero end after the credits).

Second Son is about a whole new character (taken from EU PS Blog):

Delsin Rowe is the star of Second Son, and you probably know someone like him: A 24 year-old who is absolutely convinced he’s destined for greatness; though so far that greatness has managed to elude him. He grew up just outside Seattle, where his great – if accidental – calling comes crashing into his life. After rescuing occupants from a fiery bus wreck, he discovers that he suddenly has the ability to direct, manipulate and even transform into… Smoke. Could he have absorbed this power from one of theengers he pulled from the wreckage?

Setting the scene: It’s been seven years since the Cole McGrath episodes and the world has clearly changed. Anyone showing signs of being a so-called “bio-terrorist” is immediately handed over to the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) — a government agency created to ensure there is never a repeat of the catastrophic events of Empire City and New Marais. So Delsin, who has never been particularly respectful of authority, finds himself caught in the DUP dragnet – And decides he’s not going to go quietly.

Along the way, Delsin is going to ask questions that are not just relevant to the world of Second Son – but to the world we all live in today. A world where we are often instructed to surrender our freedoms to help improve our security. Ben Franklin once wrote “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Is he right?
