Okay, this, I didn't see coming.
As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , Square Enix will finally release Final Fantasy Type-0 in the US and Europe. The game originally launched on the PSP in Japan in 2011, but has never visited any other territory.
Obviously, the PS4 iteration will be significantly upgraded, which will undoubtedly please fans of the franchise. On top of which, the spin-off Final Fantasy Agito is headed to Android and iOS platforms; Agito hit Japan last month and both games in question are set in the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe, the home of the Final Fantasy XIII story arc. Said Square Enix product manager Sakura Minamida:
"I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe."
Well, that's good news. It's not the FF I'd want to see redone on the PS4 but hey, at least it keeps happening. We got Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster this year and now we're getting an HD version of Type-0 …what might be next? Dare we hope…?
Related Game(s): Final Fantasy Type-0
FF12, FF crisis core, and FF7, 8, and 9 remakes. Please? You release a damn cellphone game with the motorcycle sword bit from FF7 and it looks good why can't you do that with the entire game?
I'm actually excited for this. Has anyone here played this game? I wonder if it's more of a Final Fantasy game than the XIII trilogy was.
Hey now is this a good surprise!
Holy crap, SE did something that people wanted them to do? I'm utterly speechless.
-I grasp your right shoulder from behind and nod…
haha
And I thought I would never get to play it, now I just have to go back to hoping it's worth playing.
Hot damn. Another one to add to the quickly growing list of PS4 games to buy!
This is one of the biggest mistakes S-E has ever done. I just cannot get my head around it. This would have been such an enticement for me to get a Vita – which lets be frank, it needs more titles right now. But for the PS4… I mean yes I am happy I will be able to play it… but it just seems like a poor marketing decision. This really could have saved the Vita.
Also, I think this announcement is rather convenient. I really think this is just S-E giving the two fingers to 'SkyBladeCloud' Who only just released their translation patch for the PSP version. It's clear this was just a sudden decision from S-E as the announcement was just a notation at the end of the Agito trailer. Which I think is poor on them. Type-0 should already have a Vita release, I really think they have dropped the ball with this title. I doubt we'll get the PS4 version until late 2014.
Too bad, get over it.
I'm not to bothered myself, I will just play it on the PS4 when it arrives in 2016 (Which is what I mean before not 2014 :P). But I feel sorry for the Vita as this was a sure system seller which has now been snagged by other consoles.
And next time try comment with something more substantial to say.

ive played the game its not traditional turn based its rather semi turn and action based at the same time think of crisis core but with less confined areas and alot of different charcters you can play as
With towns to explore?
I always wanted this.
But I always expected it to be release on the VITA instead so this is surprising.
I feel like if S-E doesn't restore the past soon it'll be too late for enough people to care if that day ever arrives. Judging by FFX HD's sales (Vgchartz has it clocked in at only 1.3 million globally, platforms combined) a game that I'm pretty sure every active old school fan bought, tells me the past base has mostly moved on and no longer cares much for the old.

and so what I'm getting at is that something like a FFVII HD remake like the one we saw for PS3's announcement will probably never happen. The cost to fully re-craft the experience to AAA standards would probably not be profitable for them judging by the response FFX HD collection got.

I'm guessing FFX HD was as much if not more sold in digital format and thus not reported.
1.3+ million physical sales is pretty decent, though. Wonder how many digital sales there were…
Lightning Returns couldn't touch that…
How about holding off on the remakes and finish the games that were announced/hinted at years ago like FFXV (versus) and KH3? Get those done and then surprise people with some classic goodness!
There will always be new games in the making as well as multiple development teams.
Finally SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy this is finally coming State side! =D
Sweet! Been wanting this ever since it released in Japan, but by this point I'd given up on it being localised.
I feel like it probably would've made more since to put it on the Vita, but I won't complain.
Only heard good things about this game, and I guess it shows that yes, SE is listening.
well i hope you enjoy
happy gaming =)
