Another unique, artsy game with lots of potential is headed to the world of PlayStation.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Night in the Woods is coming to the PlayStation 4. Game animator Scott Benson said the team "ideally" wants to launch this fall.

Dubbed an "adventure/exploration game with a heavy focus on story, character, and place," it involves a lot of different elements. There's your standard running and jumping, but that's mixed in with other "extracurricular activities" such as bass playing. The setting is the crumbling town of Possum Springs, a former mining town that's struggling to survive after the mines closed down. Mae the cat is a college dropout and she's back to visit her friends who still live in the town; Bea, Gregg, Angus, and Germ.

Mae finds that "strange things are happening to her and to the town" and there's something lurking in the woods beyond the town that might be the death of them all… Here's an intriguing snippet from Benson:

"Night In The Woods is a story about letting go and holding on. We wanted to create something that got into some ideas that were kicking around in our heads, themes that hopefully resonate with a lot of people. We wanted to create characters people could identify with and the kind of town a lot of people are from, but with more talking animal people. Most towns don’t have more than a few talking animal people probably. If yours does, please get in touch."
