Thus far, Ubisoft has been mostly quiet about the multiplayer modes available in the upcoming Watch Dogs .

No more, though. The publisher has released a 9-minute trailer that details each of the anticipated title's multiplayer modes. There's plenty of variety here, so you'll definitely want to give it a try!

One of the modes reminds one of Assassin's Creed , in that you have to take out your target before they turn the tables and eliminate you. Another one has the player utilizing the free ctOS app for iOS or Android to control hackable items in the game. So yeah, you can take over helicopters and police cars and the like, and then another player attempts to drive through checkpoints before time runs out. A third mode, called Competitive Decryption Combat, pits teams of players against each other as they both attempt to crack a coded digital file.

All of it sounds awfully intriguing, don't you think?

Oh come onnnnnnnnn world! Is that all you can say?

I've read so many previews today where people with hands on have said that the general open world mechanics are similar to other open world games, but the best parts of WD are the parts that are unique to WD.

Just writing the game of as "looks like gta" is so damn shallow, as if GTA has the patent on open world games!

intrigued to see how this turns out.
its had so much sh*t flung in its face which is a real shame its really hurt the hype train, and peoples expectations of it.
i really dont know what to expect.

Agreed. It really would be great if for once a game turned around at all the skepticism and blew us all away.

At the same time though we all have good reason to be skeptical. We know all too well when a game touts itself as the big new thing only to fall flat on it's ass :-/
