Aw, No Cheats For Watch Dogs

You know, I kinda miss cheat codes.

They still exist, of course, but they're not nearly as big as they used to be. And some of this generation's biggest games may not support cheats at all; Watch Dogs , for instance.

Ubisoft creative director Jonathan Morin confirmed as much on Twitter :

"No we did not put cheat codes."

In my opinion, big games like Watch Dogs should have some sort of cheat option for those who just wanna have some fun. I'm not a supporter of cheating online when competing with others, but a few cheats here and there during the solo experience is just fine and dandy, right? We enjoy those silly cheats in games like Grand Theft Auto V , for example. I wouldn't use any cheats to help me complete a game but once finished, I'm all up for some zany craziness.

Oh well, guess we'll just have to play Watch Dogs straight.

dunno what he means by that, all games have cheats built into them it helps the developers test the games but they are locked out once the games completed.
i remember seeing a preview of infamous second son when 2 of the developers were down here and they were showing off all the dev tools and how they create the game, and showed us all the cheats they had in the game.
wish they were left unlocked though, i mean imagine how much more fun infamous 2 would of been with unlimited powers.

another thing i wish games would start incorporating much more often, new game +
especially games where you can change and shape the story, or open world games, games which really are meant to be played more than once.
really spoils the experience going through the game, getting use to certain abilities and powerups, than you restart the game and keep saying man i wish i had those powers back i really miss using them!
exactly what ruined infamous 2, instead of getting more powerful like your suppose to, you spend most of the game missing your powers, feeling like a weak pussy, having to get them back.
then when you FINALLY do there no where near as powerful as they use to be, i mean cut my finger off and rub salt and vinegar in the wounds why dont ya!
sure you dont want to add the red hot branding iron as well?

Do they still exist? I would have thought with PS3 Trophies they'd be removed – The last cheat disc I bought was for the PS2.

This is not Grand Theft Auto. I don't recall any Assassins Creed games having any cheat codes so I don't see why people expect it of Watch Dogs.

That's disappointing as I'm a fan of using cheats after beating a game at least once. Sometimes I just want to play through a game again for the story without having to worry about running out of health, ammo or energy/mana. or spend many hours grinding in an RPG.

One bright side is that without cheat codes they can't sell the codes as paid DLC. Capcom did it with Dead Rising 2 and THQ did it with Saint's Row the Third and that just struck me as wrong.
