Update:  This is now official: TLoU on PS4 will have the following features:

1080p high-def resolution, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, director and voice actor commentary, and expansion packs Left Behind, Abandoned Territories, and Reclaimed Territories.

It'll be out this summer!

Original Story:

It's only a matter of time before the official announcement arrives.

More evidence for a PlayStation 4 version of Naughty Dog's critically revered The Last Of Us has been found.

This time, it's a listing on Sony's own PlayStation Store: It was spotted by a NeoGAF forumite and it clearly shows The Last Of Us: Remastered for the PS4. It holds a standard $60 price tag and will include day-one digital releases, which sort of implies that the game will be released in physical format. However, the link on the Store doesn't work just yet, so it may have gone up too early.

Yeah, it's coming. The new version will likely include the Left Behind DLC as well. There has been much debate concerning the prospect of TLoU on PS4; some say they want Naughty Dog to just focus on new projects, while others remind everyone that it doesn't take much to issue an graphical update. What's your take?

This is great news! Looking forward to playing this game on PS4 as I never had the chance to experience it on PS3.

I'm all for it, it's one of the greatest games ever made, how could this possibly be bad news?

I think its a strategy to prepare for the sequels on ps4. So thats definitely a good news

You could argue you'd rather them spend time on something else… but…

Think about it. There isn't much for PS4 users right now. There are, however, around 7 million consoles sold. I see no reason why this minimal effort re-release won't sell. Perhaps the best way to look at it is a quick project that can only help fund further ND products.

This new gen is looking so sad right now.Pathetic even. FFX/X-2 is the last remaster I'm buying, even if it's a game the caliber of The Last of Us.

I think it's remarkably better than past console releases. But that's just little ol' me making big ol' assumptions on little known facts.

I know. It's pretty lame that we are getting all this remakes.

I want new games, not the games I have already played.

In order for me to rebuy this it must include dlc(including single-player and multi-player) Then up the multiplayer maybe 6vs6 no higher than 8vs8 Multiplayer gets boring when it's only 4 other players to kill lol. It'd be cool if they could add a legit clan system with ladders.

YES! I guess this is the reason that I did not buy the PS3 version. Life works in mysterious ways.

Also a little sad that we're getting excited about old games on a new system when we should get excited about new games designed for the new system but what can you do, right? Have to wait it out I guess.

I'm all for these "upgrades" but I think it's highway robbery to charge $60 for them.

Underdog15

Yeah I kind of agree. Even with all the DLC.

But if you've never bought it before, it will at least have real value.

An upgrade program would remedy this.

I hope they include a cross-buy promotion. It would suck if they made us all pay full price again for a game we already own.

Agreed, they should charge a $10 upgrade fee like so many cross-gen games did last fall.

When has Sony ever made you not pay for a game you owned on a past platform?

@Cesar:

Here's an incomplete list showing Vita/PS3/PS4 cross buy list.

I know it's incomplete because some titles it fails to mention, like FFXIV for example.

I'm aware of the cross buy promotion Underdog, but WYO was talking about a game that he already owned. Sony has never sold a game in a last gen console that would entitle you to get the next-gen version for free when and if it was ever released. In any case, this situation would apply for every game that is bought from when the game is announced and that is only if Sony says so.

That's exactly what you can do with FFXIV. It releases sometime this or next week for PS4, and if you already own it for PS3, you can upgrade for free.

It's also the only one I've know of currently.

@Cesar:
You are right that WYO was referring to game you already own, but he wasn't implying that he get it for free – just not having to pay the full price again. I think many people would be willing to pay a small upgrade fee to recognize that some time and money (labour) were spent improving the overall look of the game for a newer console.

great news for everyone who missed it the first time — perhaps the best game of last gen, IMHO. But I won't be paying $60 to play it again when my PS3 copy still looks and plays just fine 🙂

A lot of people seem against these remasters. Why? You don't have to get them, and odds are they don't take up very much of developers resources.

Its great for us ps4 owners looking for a bit more to play while we wait for the heavy hitters.

For me this is absolutely perfect, I borrowed the ps3 one from a friend and was gonna play it again eventually anyway, so might as well get the best possible version. Wanted to play left behind anyway.

I agree. I like the idea of a cherished gaming classics not being lost into obscurity. I'm very happy for stuff like the DMC collection, FFX HD collection, Splinter Cell HD, and Ratchet.
It's sorta like VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray movies in that the classics aren't dieing with the platform.

Awesome, I haven't played it yet, so now it can just be added to my list of ps4 games I need to play.

There will be barely no difference in graphics. Nothing will change in the game, and Sony will make millions off of this game and they don't have to do anything but port it over.

PS4 is getting more disappointing by the month. I hope E3 proves me wrong.

Great news. I can't wait.
This will also give them Xbox to PS migrators a chance to play TLoU and see what all the excitement was about.

and hey, for those wishing for a discount, just take your PS3 copy and sell it or trade it in right now =)
I know I will be.

ND said there's no plans or knowledge of such a product.

I think I remember that actually. I suppose the directive from Sony may have come down after that point. I think ND was touting that their engine was successfully ported to PS4 a few months back. Considering the speed of conversion I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing a TR: DE or FFX HD style overhaul.

what for?
no, seriously.
1 the game was so successful $ony made PLENTY money off it so they cant be b*tching about sales!
2 this wont be a massive upgrade, i wouldnt be surprised to see this turn out like the recent ps2>ps3 "HD" remakes like the GOW collection, so its hardly going to blow peoples socks off and show what the ps4 can really do.
3 and most importantly, THIS is what people spend 550+ bucks, and waited SEVEN freaking years, for?
seriously?
we need NEW titles, NEW ideas, not freaking HD remakes for f*cks sake!
knew i should of sold my ps4 the day my friend gave it to me, i sold several others for 7-800 bucks could of netted me another nice profit!
sigh.
now i REALLY feel sorry for those morons who bought them on ebay paying the 7-800 dollar premium, they must be suicidal about now!

A similar thing happened at PS3 release. I know because I preordered 2 of them and sold the one pre-order almost a week before release for over $2k.

I said the same thing would happen this time, just probably for not as much money.
