If you're hoping for a playable demo for Watch Dogs , prepare to be disappointed.

Creative director Jonathan Morin revealed on Twitter that his team isn't going to produce a demo for the hotly anticipated title.

This is simply because demos "take time" and they'd rather utilize that time to complete the main game. Remember, Watch Dogs was delayed; it was originally supposed to launch last fall and now, it won't arrive until May 27. On the plus side, Morin did say we'll "see more footage before a release," and that might help to quell the nasty rumors about a significant graphical downgrade. Those arose after some leaked footage appeared to look a lot different from that mind-blowing E3 presentation we saw in 2012.

A demo would've helped to clarify things as well, but we certainly understand the time issue. Get it done and get it done right, I say. We don't need the demo.

The ONLY reason this game is gonna sell well is because it is one of only a very few next gen titles coming out. I think this game is gonna suxor!

WD is actually a cross-gen title.

And it shows.

I got a stronger and stronger feeling this game will turn up being a rushed wreck.

Also because the game is bad and we don't want anyone to know it till they buy 🙂

Ubi knows that if a demo hits on consoles, that it will be torn apart and inspected frame by frame.

And once people see that the actual game is but a shadow of the E3 2012 tech demo, it'll be game over for Watch dogs.

The game was obviously downgraded. So it would make no sense to release a demo & have the gaming community giving said demo some bad press/reviews.

LOL! The triumvirate of optimism!

Seriously though, I wish there were demos for every game. I know there are good reasons NOT to make one – including limited time & resources – but without one, I'll likely pass on many games that I'm sitting on the fence about. Including Watch_Dogs.

I had such high hopes for this game that have since dwindled into pure disappointment at its impending release. It has such a cool premise and from what I have gathered a pretty interesting story, but ever since the gameplay video I've just not cared.

Ubi doesn't really release garbage. No matter how bad assassins creed gets the area/city where it takes place is always amazing. Far Cry was never bad and just got better and better.

Gotta give Ubisoft and new director whats his name a chance. Otherwise we should all bow down to first person shooters since thats the only thing people seem to never doubt or call it trash before it releases. If I'm wrong about Watch Dogs being good, than its another Skyrim to add to my list. If Titanfall can be good, so can Watch Dogs.

Remember being hyped about new and interesting takes on games? Nope, cause now everythings gotta be recognizable. Otherwise its hated and destroyed by the gaming media. Give it a chance, watch gameplay when its actually released, and then call it trash.

People out there are playing the BETA of Watch_Dogs. According to their impressions, the game is not really innovative. In fact, you end up doing the same stuff you do better elsewhere.

Like you can steal cars and boats. However, the cars don't handle as well as they do in the GTA games. The shooting mechanics are nothing out of the ordinary either. You buy stuff like weapons in stores.

Hacking people in the game is mostly a gimmick used to farm money and gain some useless info on them. Its a gimmick that seems to get old the more you play. You can also get hacked by others and you can have fun tracking them down. Other than that, nothing truly groundbreaking.

Not saying that W_D is garbage. But it may not be a #GameChanger as that E3 2012 video appeared to claim.

… I find myself on Bonampaks side in this discussion, but you got a good point about Ubisoft, Knightzane. They don't really release garbage. That is very true.

gotta love ubisofts damage control!
first they show off the game at several events, and even though the game is suppose to be out in a months time, its strictly a hands off affair.
and its the same demo they were showing off months ago!
then they announce the delay at the last minute, and say nothing for almost SIX months!
then they FINALLY release a new trailer, it does not really reveal much new, and looks so much worse than the previous build.
then they deny no of course it has not been downgraded, but do nothing to prove it.
and now this.
yeah, ubisoft your really good at building peoples confidence now arent you?
