None of these numbers are official, so don't go quoting like them like they are.
But they certainly seem feasible: According to Insiderp , the recently released PlayStation 4 exclusive, inFamous: Second Son , has allowed Sony's new console to increase its worldwide lead over Microsoft's Xbox One.
Firstly, it seems the highly anticipated sequel from Sucker Punch has already moved over 1 million units, and due to the greatly increased PS4 shipments, the next-gen system has enjoyed a big sales jump. If you believe these numbers, over 500,000 PS4s were sold worldwide between March 17 and March 28, which brings the overall total to around 7 million…and supposedly, that's 3 million more than the Xbox One.
Again, there's no way to tell how accurate these statistics are, but we do know Second Son was a huge title for Sony. In fact, it might've even rivaled Titanfall in terms of impact and popularity…
Related Game(s): inFamous: Second Son
It's having a little more impact than I thought, but as predicted the possibility of having a huge PS4 game that could be "next gen" has caused a bump.
I get the feeling that it's really more of an HD update though. Anyway, glad Xbox One is getting crumpled up. It's time for a new console and somebody's gotta go.
You're right man Somebody has to go.As the Boss said There's room for only one snake in this world.
It's a great game. I bought the CE, naturally.
It IS a great game! I can't fathom how people view this as a minor upgrade over previous games. It's better in every way measurable.
I DO understand the complaints that the story is simpler/streamlined & doesn't harken back to I or pay homage enough for some inFAMOUS fans to previous games. I get that. But I don't get how one can be taken seriously saying this game isn't really "next gen" or is just an HD upgrade. Seems to be the popular thing to do these days is bash good games. It's as tiring as people complaining about hipsters or emo kids back in the day. Nothing is ever good enough. Sheesh…….
Okay so how is it a big improvement over the last and not an HD update? (which by the way is not bashing). Everything functions the same, the missions are variations on what we've already done before, we're still doing silly stuff like beating up musicians, the NPCs are still acting goofy, melee is the same, the story isn't as good. I really dig the game it's lots of fun, but with less beautiful graphics it could have been done on PS3.
I'm enjoying this one WAY more than the previous ones. I don't know if I can put my finger on exactly why that is, but a few top line reasons:
1. I love the Delsin character, not because I relate to him or think he's exceptionally well-written, but because he very nearly breaks the fourth wall in his pleas for the player to ENJOY the powers he has. (Still chuckle just thinking about the way he grins at the screen right before he drops as a smoke bomb!) It's great to have an on-screen avatar that seems to exist almost solely as a vehicle for the player to have fun in the game (and as I type this, I realize he's very nearly a grunge-inspired Mario in this regard.)
2. The fluidity and speed with which you can move is just unlike anything I've ever played. I won't reveal any of the game's later powers but suffice to say, you can fly, sprint up the side of skyscrapers, etc.
3. The super attacks! OMG, the Neon one is the most fun I've had decimating a group of enemies since Knights of the Round.
Recommended to all PS4 owners.
The game is brilliant in almost every way. I haven't heard a single bad review from consumers. The only criticism seems to derive from critics who want inFamous to not be inFamous. Yeah, well, myopic critics, that's why we bought it: it plays like inFamous, only better than ever before.
Exactly! Somebody else gets it. 🙂
Yeah – anyone complaining about the gameplay in this game is just whacked.

Gameplay is on the forefront. Anyone doubting that is a hater or maybe it's just not their thing. If so then a no comment is preferred.
Story could have been better though. Seems like an intro to a bigger story. Or at least I hope it is. Imagine how phenomenal this game would be with Last of Us storytelling. They need a great writer for infamous 3rd rock from the Sun. Lol..

As much as I love inFamous and think it deserves all these sales, a lot of people basically had to buy inFamous bundles because that's all that's available if you want a PS4. That's great news for Sucker Punch and Sony on the inFamous sales numbers, but they may be skewed. That is, people buying the game may not be fans or even interested. They had to get it to get the machine. Hopefully, though, they join the ranks of inFamous-lovers!

well this wud be cool and it just shows that customer satisfaction and care cos that's what makes u successful. and quite frankly i don't support or feel gud about M$ because they just trust them cos of they way they treated their 360 users and what they pulled with the xb1
happy gaming =)
I hearing stuff that Titanfall isn't having the sales impact MS is hoping for. The only things to go on is lack of sales figure announcements which is unusual for Microsoft and the price cuts of the Titanfall bundles (why if their selling well). Haven't bothered to check any chart websites.

Titanic Fail
j/k
Reasons for that could be its availability only on XBox One, it being a new unproven IP, shooter fatigue amongst gamers (some say proven by Call of Duty supposedly dwindling popularity) or it being a $60 game that is online-playable only with less features than other shooters. If Microsoft was expecting it to sell in the range of Call of Duty or Halo, then I feel for them.
That may change once the 360 version drops.

I dunno about that, it's sold over a million copies to date on the X1/PC. If MS/EA were expecting something far in excess of that, then they're both suffering from a rather severe case of Capcom syndrome.
@Lawless, if its a million or so between xbone and pc well then that doesn't bode for Microsoft since they been hyping it as the next big thing.
It will have gone up by last count. I'd easily imagine it to be at 1 mil. on the XBO by now. Consider it not in terms of hype, but in terms of the fact that that means one in every four XBO owners has Titanfall. That's a success. PC figures would probably be between 150k and 200k from retail, which isn't surprising considering most PC gamers get their stuff online and goodness knows what it's sold digitally.
TitanFall not up to expectations.. Even with MS giving the game away? Hmm.. Doesn't sound good at all.
I do not count PC sales when comparing it to Infamous. It's next/this gen console exclusive vs next/this gen console exclusive. Those are the numbers I'm tracking.

^ This. If Titanfall sold a ton on XO then Microsoft would have trumpeted it through the roofs as they usually do. But they're not. Like not coming out with official total worldwide sales numbers for xbone since January. We know they're behind ps4 but of course Ms don't want mainstream public to know. It may be a success in general but it doesn't appear to be the system pushing everyone must have game like it was hyped up to be.

No question they're panicking. Over the last month, they abruptly decided to pack the game in for FREE with the X1, and now all the major retailers are discounting THAT bundle by 50 bucks. That effectively makes the X1 cheaper than PS4, and they are STILL not talking about sales figures? That's about a clear a signal as you can get that sales are NOT where Microsoft wants, or needs, them to be.
Wouldn't have expected inFamous to have that much of an impact… If true, those figures are pretty impressive, and I daresay that the XBO is going to be limping for a long time yet.
I am really enjoying my infamous second son. I am over halfway thru it with 100% good karma and im already looking forward to a second play thru with only bad karma. this game is excellent.
Thumbs up for the comment… and of course that avatar!!
Of course Infamous was going to sell well. We are like 5 million PS4 owners that are starving for worthwhile new gen games. Right now, besides Killzone and Infamous, there are next to none.
Well, this is pretty much in line with what vgchartz say so I'm inclined to believe it.
The PS4 is per undisputable spec data the best console of the two, and the market has caught that message. I think it's that simple.
The pre-launch hype has materialized to a status where now, 4 months later, the Playstation is closing in on TWICE the hardware sale of the Xbox.
That's pretty darn unbelieveable.
I guess Microsoft was due for the third console curse.
Plus, of course, it helps that it's the cheapest alternative too. That fact must not be forgotten in all this.

Better, Cheaper and the potential of the Exclusives takes the PS4 to the top. Not to mention Plus is quite a draw for some. All this and the 4 is still missing some requested features. Imagine when the updates start hitting. And when the AAA first exclusives start coming on a more frequent basis.

The 100 dollar difference is huge, Beamboom, I agree. The great indie games thrown in with a PS Plus Subscription have done a great job filling in the gaps between the AAA releases (though not sure what's on tap for this summer besides Elder Scrolls Online?), effectively making not on the console cheaper, but the acquisition of more, great games far cheaper than X1. It's a can't-miss value proposition. I for one am just enjoy the hell out of my PS4 every time I turn it on.
I think this is great for Infamous. It's just such a FUN game and beautiful to boot. Also, I was unaware of any bundles bc my friend said that was the only way he would get the ps4 right now. I finally found one on Amazon but it's not like you realky received any discount, so I don't see the sales being heavily forced by bndle packages.
Then you have Microsoft giving away Titanfall for free w/xbox one purchase and then retailers like Best Buy and Walmart (Amazon for at least a day) further marked down that bundle to $449 for an extended weekend to week. So even if xbox one sees a surge, it could be heavily attributed to the fact the game was not only free, but the system itself was actually marked down.
Splurging millions into TitanFall marketing and publicity, effectively blanking out other games' marketing, didn't help it in becoming the next big thing since sliced bread?
I guess MS were thinking these were still the 360 heydays where they just had to publicize the sh1t out of something and folks would automatically lap it up.
(Not saying TitanFall isn't any good – it's fun, I have it on my XB1 and currently am at level 41. Don't like the Titans though, they feel too much like COD foot soldiers with climb and jump capabilities removed. The Pilots and parkour is fun though).

Wow, I am glad there is someone playing Titanfall who actually see's the truth about the Titan's.
I've been saying since the beta that the Titan's are nothing more then bigger foot soliders. With a much bigger target painted on their backs.
Also, in regards to marketing, I am not sure blanket marketing really works to convince people to buy something, when it comes to gamers they generally form an idea of whether or not they will buy a game pretty early on, usually after the gameplay reveal. And if you own an Xbox One or PS4, then you don't need blanket marketing to know about Titanfall and it's gameplay.
Some of the ads are cool, but they don't offer to persuade anyone of anything.
