It's always more difficult to create games for multiple platforms when there are significant performance gaps between those platforms.

But with the extra power of the new consoles, developer CD Projekt Red says they no longer face that problem. As the studio's global head of marketing Tomasz Jarzębowski told the Sydney Morning Herald :

"I think we are in a good moment, we don't have to choose between better graphics or performance on either PC or consoles now. We can just create the best looking game possible."

Jarzębowski added that only time will tell if their new project, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , is maxing out the capabilities of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. "We are always getting wiser and wiser, so I expect our next game will look even better," he noted. The game in question was initially supposed to launch later this year, but it has since been delayed until February 2015, as the team just needs a little more time.

Given the extremely ambitious nature of the title, we're not really surprised.

I'm sure it is easier, they didn't have the powers to bring Witcher to PS3 cuz it wasn't built like a PC.

Good thing, that. Now if only they'd get a move on with Cyberpunk, I'd be happy.

The prime argument for going for an industry standard architecture. It may be boring and unexotic, but it gives both more and better running games.
