How big will Dragon Age: Inquisition be?

Oh, pretty freakin' large, according to the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. We don't have the magazine in front of us, but the details were captured by a BioWare forumite . Let's just hope the info is accurate.

It seems there will be "five major regions" to unlock and explore: Fereldan, The Free Marches, Orlais, Nevarra, and the Dales. BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah said players will also visit the Emerald Graves, where the Dalish Elves planted one tree for every soldier who fell in the Exalted Marches. As for the environment, players will be have a definite impact on their surroundings. We'll influence local settlements, establish trade routes, capture and hold territory, and even disrupt the local ecosystem.

This already sounds about a hundred times more dynamic than Dragon Age II . I like the part about three separate dialogue wheels that players will utilize during conversation: Tone Wheel, Choice Wheel, and Reaction Wheel. Anything that makes the narrative more appealing is good news to me! Lastly, the feature claims there will be as many as 40 possible endings, each of which will be "meaningfully different."

All of this makes Inquisition sound downright awesome .

Looks like I've got some more grinding to do to get caught up, still haven't finished DA or II even though they are both sitting on my shelf to be played…

I've been looking forward to a new DA installment for a long time. Loved the first 2!
BioWare is a talented team that has set the standard for beautiful dialogue driven stories with excellent combat mechanics. I love how they bring new stuff to the table without bastardizing the core mechanics that people fell in love with years and years ago with KOTOR!
This is the game I've been waiting for. Just a little bit longer…

It does sound like its going to be much better than DA2.

However I have a really hard time trusting both EA and Bioware. I'm going to have to wait, because I remember them saying something similar about the endings to ME3.

This has been in the oven for a lot longer so hopefully they don't repeat that same mistake they did.

It is truly looking better and better the more information they release on this game.

I really hope that they include changing the pitch of the voices. That would be so awesome.

Yeah… I know it's a new gen but claims like 40 different MEANINGFUL endings are the kinds I'm extremely skeptical of – but I do like what I've seen so far.

Sounds expansive. Will start Mass Effect soon enough, so I think that will determine whether I start to show more interest in Inquisition.

one latest trend im starting to hate, our map is x big.
first of, what does that exactly mean?
what, you cant make a amazing game if the area locals of the story cover a small area?
secondly allot of games dont suit massive open worlds it just spoills the experience.
and last and most importantly, the larger something is, the more work it requires, and the more bland and empty its going to feel.
one thing i always hated about the GTA games, you start off the campaign and its great fun theres tons of things to do, your in the city theres plenty of interaction, the worlds alive around you.
you get later into the game, am forced out into the country, and you get 1 car drive past maybe once every hour!
theres zero pedestrians, you feel like you have landed on freaking mars!
in short we need to stop saying our game is x big, more meaningful and important is our game is x densely populated.
