It's still not official but considering all the accumulated evidence, it's probably inevitable.

As reported by Eurogamer , Ubisoft plans to release Far Cry 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in the first half of 2015. PS3 and Xbox 360 versions weren't mentioned, but you'd have to assume those are coming simply due to the sheer userbase size of each console.

Eurogamer cites anonymous sources "close to the project," who say the new franchise installment will be formally unveiled at this year's E3 in June. Perhaps the biggest change will be the setting: Rather than the recurring tropical environment, we'll be in the snowy mountains of the Himalayas. Furthermore, it appears players will actually be able to ride elephants in the game…which should offer several unique advantages.

There are also other new features and additions in the works, and we can't wait to hear about 'em. We're talking about one of the most accomplished and revered franchises in gaming, so it's great to hear we're getting a new next-gen entry!

One of my favorite FPS from last generation. I must have put over 60hrs into the game. You get to ride an elephant?! I'm cool with that as long as I get to kill them too.

I would so GIF the Abominable Snowman in Monsters Inc right now if I could. "Welcome to the Himalayas! "

sigh, here we go again, ubisofts creating another new IP, but slapping on a revered beloved franchises name just for the sake of sales.

Far Cry 3 was really very good – and there I was thinking they could not possibly beat Far Cry 2, not when moving from Africa to the cliche of all cliche locations in gaming: A tropical island.

How wrong I was. And with that lesson fresh in mind I now welcome Himalayas as the backdrop for the next adventure.
