How anticipated is inFamous: Second Son ?

Well, it has become the most pre-ordered next-generation title to date, so that should tell you something. According to Insiderp citing a "close amigo at SCE," the upcoming sequel had secured 1 million pre-orders worldwide as of March 18.

That counts 417,000 in North America, about 326,000 in the European/PAL regions, and another 100,000 for the PlayStation 4 bundle package featuring Sucker Punch's game. Digital pre-orders come in at 190,000. Obviously, this will translate to higher demand for Sony's new system, which is why they're preparing to ship approximately 400,000 PS4 units during Second Son 's launch weekend. That's this weekend, if you've been living under a rock on Mars.

Well, it didn't have too much competition, right? Titanfall is also available on Xbox 360 and PC; remember that the new inFamous is only available on PS4. Still, great news!

That's pretty impressive. And the game seems as solid as the series ever was, if the early reviews are any indication. Makes me want it very much. Although Eurogamer spoiled the two unannounced powers in their review 🙁

Ah, well. Deffo a day one title when I get a PS4.

Why did you even read Eurogamer's review?

I like finding out what they think of games because I generally find them to be a lot more discerning than other reviewers, with a stronger tendency to focus on the themes and quality of the narrative. There aren't many sites that go as deep with that sort of stuff as I like.

Fair enough. I like Joystiq reviews, except for the Nier review. The guy gave up reviewing the game because of the fishing!

Those numbers seem to have exceeded the previous games already. Remember the majority of these are standalone preorders, so its not free games that were given out in bundles. This says a lot about how well sucker punch did.

I am very happy with the series and wish their best from here on out.

I'm not surprised. Both systems are lacking in quality AAA titles so if anything I'd expect even more people wanting this game.

This is great to hear because in my opinion the first two should have sold better than they did.

Wow, really surprising — had no idea this game was going to compete in terms of popularity with Titanfall. Helps having a considerably larger install base, though 🙂
