As you know by now, Sledgehammer Games is taking a stab at this year's Call of Duty entry.
We don't know too much about it just yet, but Activision CEO Bobby Kotick already said it will be the "best Call of Duty game ever created." …okay, so maybe he's just supposed to say that.
However, Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield has added fuel to the hype machine, calling this new project the "most ambitious, most creative game we've ever made." He made these comments during a Game Developers Conference presentation (as attended by GameSpot ). This statement was in reference to Schofield's development career alongside the studio's other co-founder, Michael Condrey.
The only other little factoid is that Sledgehammer now has over 200 people on staff, making it one of the biggest development studios in California, so says Schofield. Are you buying all these bold claims? Will this team deliver a truly fresh Call of Duty experience?
Well they have to say something to keep the hype train going.
It really would be nice if this turns out to be true though.
Unless we're in space shooting spacemen then there's nothing fresh and new for this series
Yeah I know, it's too bad really. CoD was once one of the best franchises in gaming not only in terms of sales but quality.
I have to wonder what the CoD guys consider as ambitious…
Wasn't Schofield one of the main developers on the original Dead Space? I'm interested in seeing what they come up with, but I'm 98% certain that I won't be buying it anyway.
The last one I didn't pirate and laugh the whole way through was COD4.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
🙂
I have friends that love this series. These same friends are the worst gamers I know.
Haha! "best Call of Duty game ever created" isn't exactly a high bar to meet these days…
Wait a minute…I thought GHOSTS was supposed to be that or no wait, wasn't that black ops 2?
Now I know, they're full of garbage.
Sledgehammer didn't make either one.
At least get your facts straight.
Didn't they make the "most ambitious" claim about Ghosts?
Yeah…no.
Yeah they did. And for Black Ops… and MW3… and BO2 as well.
Everything has been about it being an impressive leap forward, revamping the engine, built from ground up (total BS), etc. etc. etc.
key word there being WEVE ever made.
thats like suzuki saying the next car we make will be the fastest car we ever made, ie there hardly known for making blazesetters.
well it's like i've told every one else i'll believe it when i see and thats all there is too and well my expectations are well no where really for COD.
happy gaming =)
As soon as i read Call Of Duty & Super Ambitious And Creative in the same sentence i just bust out laughing. If Call Of Duty changes this year i well eat my Ps3.
yeh lets be honest its gonna be same s**t different day. Oh i used a cod phrase!
:groan:
Well, uh… Nope.
Well, it doesn't matter to me. After playing Black Ops 2 and Ghosts, I will never purchase another Call of Duty game again. They will never get another penny out of me.

Wow LOL, every one of you must have insider knowledge or work for Sledgehammer and KNOW the game is bad, months before it releases…
I for one won't pre-condemn the game, I'm curious to see what they do.
