Uh…is this even possible?
According to what Sony Computer Entertainment UK product manager Josh Walker told MCV , the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, inFamous: Second Son , has received more pre-orders than last year's PS3 exclusive, The Last Of Us .
Walker said the hotly anticipated sequel from Sucker Punch is "benefiting from the goodwill and buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4" and they fully expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the series thus far. Okay, that makes sense, I suppose. But I mean, TLoU launched just last year, at about the time when the installed PS3 userbase was around 70 million or so. The PS4 userbase is only at 6 million. How could Second Son possibly have earned more pre-orders…?
Sure, we're only talking about the UK region, but even so, it seems weird. TLoU sold 3.4 million copies in less than a month and granted, not all those sales were pre-orders, but Second Son has no hope of coming close to that number. If it did, it would mean well over half the people who own a PS4 bought the game, and that just doesn't seem feasible.
Obviously, I'm missing something here. But anyway, it's great to hear that inFamous: Second Son is such a hot item. It's slated to arrive on March 21 in North America and we can't wait!
