The game was initially supposed to be a launch title for the new next-gen systems.
But look at the bright side: We almost never have anything to play during the summer months. Now we do.
Ubisoft has announced that the hotly anticipated Watch Dogs will launch on May 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; there was no mention of the Wii U version. The date comes courtesy of a new trailer leaked on Xbox.com and now it's available for the whole world to see (check it out below).
Originally set to release last November, this game has been one of the most anticipated titles on the horizon. The delay was unfortunate and it would've bolstered the launch lineups of the PS4 and Xbox One, but if they needed more time to make it right, fine. It's better than launching a disappointing product, yes? When the game does hit store shelves, the publisher will expect it to ultimately sell around 6 million copies (about the same as the original Assassin's Creed ).
Here's the trailer in question:

I like the concept of the game and it's not as unrealistic as Infamous. I'm still on the fence about this game. I feel like I could play GTA5 and have as much if not more fun but I'll keep an opened mind.
@MRSUCCESS agreed :-/
There is a reply button…
I have got to put the rest of my money down on this. So excited!
I'll be waiting for reviews.
It does look very good. Will be interesting to see how much they had to scale things down to get it to work on the old consoles.
Either way, let's hope it's as good as the trailers indicate!
I understand there's money to be made by porting to the 360 and PS3. But I'll be happy once we've moved onto the current generation.
Well I am glad to hear that many developers are making the move to next-gen focused development much earlier then last gen.
LV, I've wished we'd get rid of the former generation for two years already, so you won't hear me object to that.

This game was one of the prime reasons i got a ps4 at launch. With this coming out in May, my ps4 library is beginning to look impressive
It doesn't look any more polished than before. If anything, it looks like a downgrade visually and fluidity seems loss as well. A game called GTAV has the bigger world, runs on last gen consoles, and it's comparable to this visually.
Other than that, it offers unique gameplay in an open world environment, so I'm still excited.
dam man this reminded me of how much i'm looking forward to this game looks sick just like imfamous
happy gaming =)
New-gen starting to look tempting by mid-year? Very nice. Was seriously expecting this to be pushed all the way back to the end of the year, but I guess Ubisoft realised doing so would only result in cannibalisation of the sales of both this and the next AC.
EDIT: Watched the trailer. Based on that, the story seems more involving than I had originally anticipated. I'm intrigued.

gayyy
If this was the mid 90s I'd be offended.
Daang World, what's that in reference to: the trailer or the game itself?
FIN A F*CKING LY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
christ, thought this was never going to get a release date!
funny though, the games director confirmed on twitter that their will be a 8 player co-op mode today……..
oh please dont tell me this is why the game got delayed 7 freaking months!
the MP looked cool enough, the campaign looks awesome, isnt that enough!?
oh, great to see such a big, long, time sucking, game such as this release at the end of may hopefully there will be plenty of time to enjoy and savour this, instead of having to rush through it because theres another 4 games releasing the same week, and another 4 each week after!
cough march………..
