Yep, a new Batman is slated to hit next-gen consoles this year. Want to know more about it?
As per the April Game Informer issue that featured the game on the cover, we've got plenty of details that will make franchise fans salivate.
We already knew about the Batmobile and larger city, but the article obviously goes into more depth. For instance, that Batmobile is described as an "unstoppable force" by game director Sefton Hill, and we only need to press a button and 'poof' it's there. Well, maybe not "poof," because the super-powerful Batmobile will smash anything in its path on its way to your position. The coolest part is that it has an ejector seat, which you can use at any time to fling Batman out of the vehicle and up into the air!
Combat has been improved yet again, as we'll get new combos and takedowns. Other than that, they'll leave the familiar and wonderfully fluid fighting mechanic intact. As for the villains, we know about Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, and the Penguin, but now we find out a totally new villain – one designed specifically for the game – will make an appearance. Kevin Conroy will reprise his role as the protagonist (after having been replaced by Roger Craig Smith in last year's Origins ). That's good news for the fans, I'm sure.
Oh, and the game will not boast a multiplayer mode. Hill said they "want to focus on making the best single-player experience" possible, and they don't think they need a multiplayer element. Gotta love that. Batman: Arkham Knight will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC some time later this year; GameStop has an October 14 date, by the way.
