More good news for the upcoming Alien: Isolation .
The new effort, which sounds more and more like traditional survival/horror, will certainly look pretty damn good on next-gen consoles. As Sega confirmed via Twitter :
" Happy to confirm that the game will run in 1080p on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One! "
They didn't clarify whether or not the game will run in 1080p natively or if it will be upscaled to that maximum HD resolution. They did say they're "aiming" for native 1080p, but they couldn't definitively say it's coming. In development at Creative Studios, Alien: Isolation is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will focus on Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda, and as mentioned above, it won't involve a ton of mindless alien slaying. No, this one might be closer to the freaky and atmospheric Alien vs. Predator for the Atari Jaguar.
Man, remember that game? Still one of the few titles ever made that freaked me out when playing with the lights off. Let's hope Isolation can be equally scary; that's the way Alien games should be!
