Some combinations seem just too perfect. Peanut butter and chocolate. Ham and Cheese. Biscuits and Gravy. Well right up there on that list we should add Car Combat. Driving fast is fun. Blowing up stuff is fun. So what could be more fun than driving fast while blowing stuff up? How about driving fast while blowing stuff up and then wrecking and rewinding the wreck to make it as if it never happened?
This is the glory of Full Auto 2: Battlelines, which will be crashing exclusively onto the Playstation 3 when it launches November 14th. While the original, which shipped for Xbox 360, featured some great ideas and cool visuals, it was far from perfect. The game play leaned far more on the racing aspect and not enough on combat and carnage. Players were extremely limited in their ability to choose weapons.
Thankfully, Sega is addressing these problems. First, combat will be strongly emphasized. There will even be a brand-spanking new battle arena mode, where up to eight players can gleefully demolish each other, Twisted Metal-style! Players will also be given more freedom to pimp their rides with all sorts of goodies, including a rail-gun (are these even real?)!
With a silky smooth frame rate, gorgeous explosions, and the innovative un-wreck feature, Full Auto 2 will be a feast for the senses. The added features and game play tweeks, should make it just as much fun to play as it is to stare at. We'll find out this November. Until then, drive safely, and please don't try mounting a rocket launcher on the hood of your car. It always seems to make traffic stops uncomfortable.
