Well, this might be interesting.
Today, Activision Publishing, in partnership with Columbia Pictures, has announced a new Men in Black video game, which will launch alongside the theatrical release of "Men in Black III."
This new IP will boast "lighthearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat shooting excitement," and it should be great fun for fans of the movie series. We're not sure if we'll get the voices of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, but…we better. Said Vice President of Licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment Mark Caplan:
"With Activision bringing the Men In Black universe to life on next gen consoles for the first time, the Men In Black video game will be both familiar to fans, an exciting beginning for the uninitiated, and revolutionary for the franchise."
Focusing on the "rich mythology" of the MiB universe, the game will have an original storyline that builds on the history of the film series. It'll even introduce a few new faces to the plot, so it could act as the perfect complement to the movie when it releases. The game and movie should be ready to go next spring; the interactive one will be coming to consoles and handhelds. Cross your fingers.
Iono about this one..Movies to games just haven't been very good or successful lately..
Have you played Ghostbusters?
But in all fairness that was an original IP kinda, you know what i mean.
I really hope it will be as good as Ghostbusters: The Game. I loved that game. If movie-based games would all be this good, they would actually be succesful.
i dont understand how they keep moving these movie games when they get such mediocre reviews… i'd imagine they dont sell very much
What's a hendheld? (Last line ;P)
It's being developed by the Cabela guys. Imma lick and forget until it gets closer.
Honestly…I thought they made MIB3 years ago, LOL.
Forget protecting us at spring 2012, we really need it winter 2012 (December 21st).
Reminds me of Men in Black II: Alien Escape and that's not a good thing.
Maybe it will be better because some movie games are decent like Wolverine origins.
Uhg. Men in Black 2 was so awful. I don't want a third movie. They say the game has an "original storyline", so idk what to think about that. Wolverine managed to be good, even though the film was garbage.
*Galaxy Defenders* Only reason I'll RENT the game is because MiB animated and the first film were awesome for me… 2, not so much. Maybe 3 will change things and make it out of this world (3D Etc) after all, they (makers) have the technology…so to speak. *wears shades*
