See? We almost always get the new Yakuza titles…we just gotta be patient.

Up until now, you knew it as Yakuza: Of The End , which is the Japanese title. But it'll be called Yakuza: Dead Souls when it releases in North America; Sega has confirmed it'll arrive in the US in March 2012 .

In more good news, this won't be a straight port of the Japanese version. Sega is tossing in all the downloadable content, plus they'll include an all-new Pachislot mini-game, so this will be a complete package. The latest Yakuza marks a departure from past iterations in the franchise; this time, protagonist Kazuma Kiryu will receive the help of three allies, and they'll face off against a horde of undead foes. On top of which, firearms will be featured for the very first time in the series, which has met with some criticism from the die-hard fans.

But we're optimistic. Sega has yet to make a sub-par Yakuza , so they've earned our trust in this respect. Zombies, guns…yeah, but Kazuma is still a bad-ass, and we're still expecting another solid and engrossing storyline.

yakuza dead souls is a better title because ryuji should be dead in Yakuza 2.if still they're referring to the zombies.

Storylines cannot get any better than this franchise's. Gameplay is good, but is the story what really makes these games stand out.

The storylines are arguably the best on PS3.

Even though this is a tongue in cheek installment, i can bet the story will still be gripping, emotional and downright fantastic.

However, i think the gameplay is just as good.

To be honest, I'm surprised the western release isn't on the 360 considering SEGA hardly does exclusives anymore.

i love the yakuza series, granted i've only played 3 and 4, but i'm gonna have to pass on this one. i loved yakuza because it was yakuza. this just seems like a quick cash in to the zombie craze

I bought this from Play-Asia a few months ago & to be honest it really isn't that great. The thing is this, using the Yakuza engine which is more designed for street fighting, & dropping it into a zombie based shooter just doesn't feel right because the controls are not designed for this kind of game. It's like dropping in the brawling of The Bouncer into something like Dead Rising. Despite this though, it's alot of fun & being able to give your companions commands in co-op is surprisingly quite good. But the gunplay just feels really tacky & weak imo.

It's a decent franchise but this is an absolute sh!t direction to take the series. Thankfully it's just a spin-off, let's get back into the real Yakuza series fellas instead of planting zombies into your games ffs. This 'Of The End' spin-off has the disturbing aroma of "Trying to appease the Westerners" about it.
