Saying a Yakuza game is a "shooter" feels strange. But it's sorta true in regards to Yakuza: Of The End .
The game that blends street brawling and third-person shooting (and also adds zombies) may or may not come to North America. All the other installments in the critically acclaimed series have come to the US; it took about a year for that to happen for each installment, but we still got 'em. So maybe that's good news.
However, if Sega does bring the title in question to American shores, it's going to be "tweaked." According to Daisuke Sato, director of Yakuza 3 and the upcoming Binary Domain , Of The End for the West would feature new controls .
"For the western version of Yakuza: Of the End — if that's going to happen, then we will tweak the controls, to be closer to other western shooting franchises."
Okay, going beyond the game for a second, does anyone else find it interesting that they'd have to change the controls so they're "closer to western shooting franchises?" What does that even mean? So it plays like Uncharted or Gears ? Anybody else want to try the game with the original design? I wonder how much different it would actually be…and if it would be "worse" by our standards.
