Saying a Yakuza game is a "shooter" feels strange. But it's sorta true in regards to Yakuza: Of The End .

The game that blends street brawling and third-person shooting (and also adds zombies) may or may not come to North America. All the other installments in the critically acclaimed series have come to the US; it took about a year for that to happen for each installment, but we still got 'em. So maybe that's good news.

However, if Sega does bring the title in question to American shores, it's going to be "tweaked." According to Daisuke Sato, director of Yakuza 3 and the upcoming Binary Domain , Of The End for the West would feature new controls .

"For the western version of Yakuza: Of the End — if that's going to happen, then we will tweak the controls, to be closer to other western shooting franchises."

Okay, going beyond the game for a second, does anyone else find it interesting that they'd have to change the controls so they're "closer to western shooting franchises?" What does that even mean? So it plays like Uncharted or Gears ? Anybody else want to try the game with the original design? I wonder how much different it would actually be…and if it would be "worse" by our standards.

I played the demo long ago if I remember correctly I think square is used to shoot. I can understand them saying they controls would change for a U.S. release.

That's kind of weird but shooting with R1 or R2 is basically ingrained in my head anyway.

Have game companies not figured out by now that there is something called CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLS?

Kenzan is actually just a spin-off; not really a true sequel to Yakuza 2 (as Yakuza 3 came later).

Yes but it's a true spiritual successor to Yakuza 1 and 2 because the story was written by the same guy who wrote for Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2.All three games have Epic Storylines and characters.
I feel sorry for people who haven't played it.

I suppose that it could be a good thing, depending on the layout of the Japanese version. Maybe that also means that they'll redo the voices to. An A for effort, I suppose.

It's a good thing, because the control kinda sucked on the demo.

Well I would certainly HOPE so. You think I want to read sub-titles AND cramp up my hands?

The gameplay is fine… you can run and shoot like in DMC and aim like in RE4 without walking… It's pretty awkward but then you get used to it..

why?
why cant it stay the same?
when will japanese developers learn we dont want "westernized" games?
if i wanted a westernized game then why would i buy a game made in japan?
its like saying hey i want a fast sexy light weight car.
i know ill go buy a tank!
