Kojima Will Talk To His Staff About A Third Zone Of The Enders

It has been several years since we heard Metal Gear Solid guru Hideo Kojima express his desire to produce another Zone of the Enders .

Last week at the Tokyo Game Show, Kojima revealed that he's working on a new IP (an "original title," as he said), so it really can't be a third ZoE. But that doesn't mean the legendary game maker has passed on the idea. The fans have rejuvenated him.

Kojima elaborated at TGS during his presentation of that Zone of the Enders HD remake. He admitted that a sequel was in the works at one point, but this was before the team started cranking on the remake. However, at seeing such a positive response to the HD overhaul, he promised he'd return and speak to his staff about restarting work on that all-new title. And by the way, Kojima said both ZoE titles in the HD package will boast 3-4 minutes of fresh animation.

If you aren't familiar with the games in question, they're sci-fi fast-action games where you pilot a mech through the air, laying the smackdown on tons of invading foes. It actually felt a lot like Ninja Gaiden in mid-air; it didn't feel anything like a flight game, just so ya know.

Looking forward to the Z.O.E hd collection, never played a zone of the enders game before. He should do a Z.O.E 3 for the fans who have been wanting it, then after that he should do a sequel to MGS peace walker, anyone who has played PW knows that it needs a sequel.

Never played a ZoE game? D: my god what have you missed. anyways, you'll love the collection, it's going to be amazing! and yes whenever he makes ZoE3 it'll be the greatest.

Yeah, i'm really looking forward to playing it next year. The more i think about it, the more i think we will see Z.O.E 3 in 2013. I've said it a few times before, these hd collections are used to hype the next big release in their series. Examples include The Sly collection (Sly 4), God Of War collection (GOW 3), MGS collection (MGS Rising), ect. And Kojima said that with his new Fox engine development cycles will be shorter, so i think Z.O.E 3 in 2013 is possible.

I played through ZOE. I liked it pretty well. Awesome art and tech for it's time. I didn't care much for the boy and stuff. But anyway, I did start ZOE2 way back when it released. Regretfully, I never finished it. I was impressed with it, and I sort of regard it as one of the most technically impressive PS2 games to ever have been released. And I think it would've been one of the very few games where the Xbox wouldn't have been able to handle it the same way as the PS2 could. Those vector units were doing visual tasks that really gave the game this layered and stylized look unique to PS2's design.
So yeah, I'd be happy to see a ZOE3

But isn't the HD collection for Vita?

It's for both the PS3 and Vita, and the 360 too. The PS3 and Vita versions will feature transfarring.

^^^^ Just like the MGS collection it was coming out for ps3, then they decided to do both ps3 and vita releases.

Kojima may wanna make it but I fear Konami won't allow it.
Yes it's one of their big franchise but ZOE never was a big-seller.

Here's hoping that the collection will sell a lot and if it does, I wouldn't mind a multiplatform ZOE as long as Hide-chan makes ZOE3 then I'm a happy man.

Kojima's vice president of Konami. Yeah, he has to bow to the shareholders, but that still leaves him with a considerable amount of clout. If he's determined to do it, I think it'll be done.

I don't know if I'm the only one annoyed by this (I most likely am)…but…why does the term "HD remake" use the word: remake in them? Because it hardly is a remake at all. Just some better lighting here and there and trophies I guess.

"HD edition" sounds more suitable.

yeah I don't like remake on them either.

I agree. A remake for me would imply rebuilding an old game from the ground up on current hardware, the games in these hd collections are just having their graphics smothed out (60 fps and native 720p res). I think the correct term would be: HD Re-release

ZOE is probably too "Japanese" *eyeroll* Kojima needs to break free of Konami.

Strangely enough, the only really japanese thing about it, is mecha and the anime they used for cutscenes. haha

Mecha and anime is how I would pretty much describe the entire game…err wait…how does Kojima describe it…"High Speed Robot Action".
It pretty much sums up the whole thing, which is highly Japanese, buuuuut it kicks some severe anus because Japanese developers do the whole humanoid robot thing much better than Western developers. Play to your strengths and make part 3 Kojima! We've been waiting forever!

Well, the anime cutscenes aren't too frequent, it's generally 'cock'pit communication lol. but yes I mean mecha is pretty much all japan at least, but still! Need a zoe3 D:

Mecha and Anime are pretty big Japanese staples.

I agree World,
but now that Kojima's VP there, I don't see that happening for a while unless Konami really starts putting the pressuring on him with a bunch of petty BS & it begins to stifle him.

I'd say that it'll likely happen. I mean, why else would they do a HD collection? It's obviously to raise interest, and I'll be picking it up fo' sure. This guy is too good to miss a single game, unless it's by necessity.

less talky more doey!
thats what i hate about kojima, if he did half the things he says he will do we would of had 10 games from him by now!
teasing a new "taboo" title, teasing a new MGS, teasing a new ZOE.
JUST DO IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OPHIDIAN

We do have ten games from him.

I think he means this gen… So, MGS4 CV:LoS if you want to count it, Peace Walker, Portable Ops(?), MGS 3D, MGS HD, ZoE HD, I count seven, at least half of which I feel shouldn't really be counted. No offense intended to you, OPHIDIAN, or Kojima either.

But ten is perhaps a bit extreme. I'd settle for three Kojima Productions original titles, but we have only one as of now *sadfaces*

im not saying we should have 10 games from him, 10 games in 6 years is a little unrealistic!
i said if he did everything he said he was going to we would have at least 10 games by now!
in other words less talky talky and more releasing the dam things!
he talks about games that wont be out for 4 or 5 more years, so why tease people about them?
its just cruel!

How is it that so many Japanese devs take YEARS to put out a game? Do they take their money and go clubbing or what? If your JOB is to put out videogames then by gum, put out games! They're going to go bankrupt sitting around hoping for ZOE HD to sell well.

Im buying the collection and will be first in line for a 3rd one. The second runner is one of my all time favorites!
