Well, this is a little surprising but you know, it prompts an additional question or two…
In the past, developer Naughty Dog has hinted at the eventual return of Jak & Daxter ; the original debuted back on the PS2 and then the dynamic duo split up. Jak went on to have a few entries of his own and Daxter got his own handheld adventure on the PSP. But fans of the first game have been hoping for a reunion.
Unfortunately, though, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception assistant producer Victor Harris told TheGamersHub that Naughty Dog is a "one franchise per console company." And unsurprisingly, that "one franchise" for the PS3 is Uncharted . Of course, there's always the PlayStation Vita, which might prove to be a great platform for Jak & Daxter 's return.
But we do have to ask: undoubtedly, Uncharted will continue on into the next generation. It's too big of a flagship PlayStation franchise to simply disappear. So if J&D were to come to the PS4…wouldn't that screw up Naughty Dog's little rule? That's two franchises, ya know.
